Last month, the legendary British singer-songwriter <\/a>shared a funny TikTok about being unable to escape his hit single \u201cStep Into Christmas\u201d.<\/p>\n The clip showed John,<\/a> 78, frantically opening various cupboards and drawers in his kitchen as the song blasted out at him.<\/p>\n It has since racked up almost 8 million views on the streaming platform. However, some remarks from fans prompted the \u201cRocket Man\u201d star to make a follow-up clip.<\/p>\n \u201cHello people,\u201d he begins in the new TikTok. \u201cIt\u2019s Elton John<\/a> here. A couple of weeks ago I did some videos in this kitchen about how crazy \u2018Step Into Christmas\u2019 was driving me, and it got an incredible response, which I was quite startled about. <\/p>\n \u201cBut a lot of the response was kind of negative about how dirty my oven was. My oven door, my oven window. And I can assure you, I don\u2019t have anything dirty in this house. I\u2019ve never had anything dirty. I\u2019m not a dirty person.<\/p>\n \u201cSo to prove I don\u2019t have anything that\u2019s dirty, I\u2019m going to do something to show you.\u201d<\/p>\n In a separate clip, John can be seen putting on a pair of pink fluffy Marigolds and scrubbing away at his oven door.<\/p>\n \u201cLook at this, oh! Gosh,\u201d he says. \u201cLook, I\u2019ve got the cleanest oven window in Windsor.\u201d<\/p>\n Released in 1973, \u201cStep Into Christmas\u201d was written by John and his longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin. The song peaked at No 24 on the UK singles chart but achieved a new high of No 8 in 2019.<\/p>\n In December 2023, it was then certified triple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry, and today it remains one of the UK\u2019s most popular festive songs. <\/p>\n It is currently on track to get back into the UK Top 40, along with other immortal Christmas classics such as Mariah Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d, The Pogues\u2019 \u201cFairytale of New York\u201d, and \u201cLast Christmas\u201d by Wham!<\/p>\n Wham have achieved the Christmas No 1 for the past two years.
