There has been plenty of speculation over the future of Guglielmo Vicario<\/a>, but other reports have said that it is not the Italian that the Lilywhites want to replace.<\/p>\n According to Dean Jones, Spurs want to bring in a goalkeeper to be an understudy to Vicario<\/a> and take Antonin Kinsky\u2019s place in their squad.<\/p>\n Man City goalkeeper James Trafford has been mooted as a target for Spurs in the past<\/a>, and the Englishman has found game time hard to come by after the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n However, journalist Pete O\u2019Rourke has claimed that despite Trafford\u2019s willingness to leave, Man City would be reluctant to offload their number two.<\/p>\n When asked about the former Burnley goalkeeper\u2019s future, O\u2019Rourke told Football Insider<\/a>: \u201cYeah, I think obviously Trafford\u2019s not happy at the minute because he\u2019s playing second fiddle to Gianluigi Donnarumma.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s probably coming down to Trafford\u2019s ambition to be in that England squad for the World Cup, but if he\u2019s not playing, it\u2019s going to be hard to be in Thomas Tuchel\u2019s plans. That\u2019s probably why speculation over his future has intensified in recent weeks.<\/p>\n \u201cWe know Newcastle are long-term admirers, Aston Villa have been mentioned as well, with the ongoing uncertainty around Emiliano Martinez\u2019s future, Spurs<\/a> have also been linked as well.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I just don\u2019t see City letting him go in January, despite the player being unhappy and wanting to play.
