Update [Tue 9th Dec 2025, 7:35pm]: Microsoft has now revealed the entire list of Xbox Winter Demo Fest games for 2025, and we’ve updated the list below with all the new additions.<\/p>\n

Surprisingly, there are a couple of games we originally mentioned (Contraband Police, Kristala) that aren’t listed by Microsoft and therefore aren’t technically part of the Winter Demo Fest despite having brand-new demos. We’re going to leave them below anyway, but just be aware they’re not officially part of this event.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re thrilled to launch the Indie Selects Demo Fest! Starting today, discover over 30 amazing game demos \u2014 now including PC and Handheld titles for the first time! All demos are free to download and play anytime from December 9 through 31.”<\/p>\n

Original Story: The Xbox Winter Demo Fest for 2025 (otherwise known as the Indie Selects Demo Fest) has now kicked off, allowing you to play over 20 games for free. It’s not officially being promoted at the time of writing, but we’ve done some sleuthing and discovered these 20+ titles that are part of it \u2014 with 30+ set to be announced in total.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, we’ll be updating this list as more demos become available over the next 24 hours.<\/p>\n

As of December 9th, you’ll see a tab for the Xbox Demo Fest on your console’s dashboard. Before then, you can use the links below, navigate to the “demos” section of the Xbox Store, or search for the ones you want to try manually.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at more details on all of the available demos in the Xbox Winter Demo Fest 2025 so far:<\/p>\n

“These game demos differ from the usual ones in our Demo channel, as they\u2019re shared before the games are finished and may not reflect the final product. Think of them more like \u201cshowfloor demos,\u201d giving you early access and a chance to provide feedback. Expect these games to develop and improve before release.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Aikyam Demo<\/a>: “It\u2019s up to Vishva, Ramli, and Guruji to dazzle the hearts of disgruntled villagers with extravagant turn-based battles and rally them against the demons in this Bollywood-inspired fantasy RPG!”<\/p>\n

Amazing Frog? Demo<\/a>: “Use bonkers physics to throw ridiculous, farting ragdoll frogs all around town. The Demo limits you to part of the town of Swindon, but you can still look out and see the larger world beyond.”<\/p>\n

AWAYSIS Demo<\/a>: “A cutting edge blend of reactive and emergent physics, backed up by arcade-tight controls. It\u2019s all about momentum and mayhem as you bounce off walls and bonk your enemies into the abyss.”<\/p>\n

Biped 2 Demo<\/a>: “Biped 2 is the sequel to the exciting game about two charming bipedal robots, Aku and Sila, who have each other\u2019s backs and embark on incredible adventures side by side. Dive into this groovy co-op action-adventure game, full of puzzles, friendship, support, and fun!”<\/p>\n

Boxes: Lost Fragments Demo<\/a>: “As a legendary thief, your next assignment lures you into a grand and lavish mansion. There you find a series of puzzle boxes, designed for an unknown purpose.”<\/p>\n

Cash Cleaner Simulator: Piggy Bank Demo<\/a>: “Cash Cleaner Simulator welcomes you into the life of a low-level criminal with a particular specialty. When your underworld contacts need dirty money to come back squeaky clean, they call you.”<\/p>\n

CASSETTE BOY Demo<\/a>: “At first glance Cassette Boy looks like a charming pixel-style adventure, but beneath the surface lies something far more complex. What seems like a flat 2D pixel world is in fact a three-dimensional space. By rotating the environment, the boundaries of existence shift. What comes into view becomes real, and what slips away from sight fades into nothingness.”<\/p>\n

Coffee Talk Tokyo Demo<\/a>: “Coffee Talk Tokyo is the newest instalment of the beloved coffee brewing and heart-to-heart talking simulator. It brings the warmth, heart, and delicious drinks from the previous games to an all-new caf\u00e9 in Tokyo where humans and yokai alike share their stories.”<\/p>\n

ColorBlend FX: Desaturation Demo<\/a>: “Help Splatians blend the stolen colors back with the world and get rid of the evil Lord Ashen in this 2.5D puzzle-platformer metroidvania. Splat’n’stomp juicy enemies, swim in paint pools, solve physics and color puzzles and of course survive the death while figuring out the evil plans of the Lord.”<\/p>\n

Contraband Police Demo<\/a>: “The year is 1981, and as a young officer trainee, you are assigned to work at a border post in the mountainous region of Karikatka. Entry into the Acarist People’s Republic is strictly regulated by the party and your every move is monitored! The situation at the border escalates when your comrade is killed during one of the interventions…”<\/p>\n

Cyberawar Neon City Demo<\/a>: “To become a great hero, Printer, a newborn clone, and his shark weapon, Blue, which can shoot any type of projectile, will face great challenges on each floor of a building taken over by Cyber Monkeys.”<\/p>\n

Deck of Haunts Demo<\/a>: “Step into the role of a sinister Haunted House, where the walls whisper secrets and terror lurks around every corner. As the master of this cursed domain, your goal is to ensnare daring humans, play on their fears, and drain their very essence to expand your dark influence.”<\/p>\n

Empire in Decay Demo<\/a>: “Empire in Decay is a roguelike deckbuilding turn-based tactical game, loosely based on chess. Its gameplay has been broadened with the use of cards and the progression of units. In the game, you’ll proceed through procedurally generated routes across the districts of Daandria, the capital of the Empire.”<\/p>\n

Froggy Hates Snow Demo<\/a>: “In this demo, you are Froggy \u2014 a determined survivor in a hostile, snowy desert. Dig paths through the snow to discover treasure, battle eerie creatures, and adapt in a world where warmth is survival and the freezing temperatures aren\u2019t the only thing that can kill!”<\/p>\n

Go North – Demo<\/a>: “Go North is a cozy and immersive maze adventure. With the help of numerous magical and technological items, navigate beautifully unique mazes and explore expansive worlds in a story-driven adventure like no other.”<\/p>\n

Incantation Demo<\/a>: “Immerse yourself in the chilling tale of the Chen Family Village, where a mother searching for her missing daughter accidentally stumbles into a haunted place filled with mysterious cults.”<\/p>\n

KEJORA Demo<\/a>: “Kejora features hand-drawn art and animation, environmental platformer puzzles, and party-based inspired gameplay with 2 supporting characters with unique skills to help Kejora in her exploration and journey.”<\/p>\n

Knuckle Jet Demo<\/a>: “Knuckle Jet is an off-the-wall, jetpunk, fast-paced, ricochet action platformer, where you use the titular Knuckle Jet to propel yourself through the air, bounce off walls and smash enemies.”<\/p>\n

Kristala Demo<\/a>: “Kristala is a dark fantasy Action RPG that invites you into the role of a magically gifted feline warrior on a quest to master the ancient magics of the Sacred Kristals.”<\/p>\n

Limbot Demo<\/a>: “Welcome to Limbot, the ultimate physics-based city stomping experience where up to 4 players must attempt to pilot a person dressed as a giant cardboard robot! Embrace the chaos in a paper-craft metropolis designed to be crushed, smashed, and destroyed!”<\/p>\n

Lost in Loss Demo<\/a>: “Hey, Detective! Ready for a strange case? Citizens are forgetting who they are \u2014 their true selves are slipping away. Will you help bring them back?”<\/p>\n

Mark of the Deep Demo<\/a>: “Mark of the Deep is an epic pirate adventure with a strong narrative and a thrilling mix of elements from acclaimed Metroidvania and Souls-Like games. Embark on this journey as the pirate Rookie, explore the mysteries of a cursed island and find your missing pirate crew!”<\/p>\n

Master Lemon: The Quest for Iceland Demo<\/a>: “MASTER LEMON is a narrative adventure game inspired by a true story. Players solve puzzles and face difficult choices as Lemon tries to save a land from a plague that devours memories and threatens the legacy of all the world’s languages.”<\/p>\n

Megabattle Demo<\/a>: “Build your DECK and your ROBOT. Fight with STRATEGY and don\u2019t die \u2014 roguelike style. A unique and FUN game where you\u2019ll create your own character and develop a one-of-a-kind way to FIGHT.”<\/p>\n

Pathologic 3 Demo<\/a>: “You have only 12 days to stop the lethal plague. But in your hands lies the most valuable resource\u2014time. Travel into the future to witness the worst outcomes. Correct mistakes in the past to change them. Bend the fates of people around you to save or condemn you\u2014in search of answers.”<\/p>\n

Raging Bill Demo<\/a>: “Raging Bill is a physics-based TPS sandbox. You play as Bill, a former MMA champion turned billionaire recluse, whose peaceful retreat is shattered when partygoers, aliens, zombies, dragons, and other bizarre threats all descend on his island\u2014on the same day. Time to put the gloves back on!”<\/p>\n

Realm of Ink Demo<\/a>: “Realm of Ink is an Ink-style action Roguelite game. While pursuing the Fox Demon, the swordswoman Red, unexpectedly finds that her life is dictated by the ‘destiny’ within the world of the book. Only by breaking free can she unveil the truth of her existence and challenge the constraints of fate.”<\/p>\n

Reef Defense Demo<\/a>: “Reef Defense is a fast-paced, intense strategy game where relentless waves of crustaceans are coming for your precious eggs! Arm your reef with strategically positioned defenses and hold the line. Can you outlast the swarm, or will your eggs become crab food?”<\/p>\n

Relooted Demo<\/a>: “A crew. A job. A plan. Toss those ingredients together, and you\u2019ve got yourself a classic heist \u2014 but with a few twists. Your crew members are everyday citizens (from different countries in Africa) with pretty normal careers. The job is to liberate African artifacts from Western museums. And the plan? Well, that\u2019s up to you to create.”<\/p>\n

Rhythm Towers Demo<\/a>: “Music is the beating pulse of Planet Rhapsody. Groovy tunes constantly thrum through the blue-grass meadows, echo across the haunting wastelands, and howl above the craggy mountains. These musical tunes protect and sustain the mysterious AlgoRhythm, without which Planet Rhapsody would shatter into a silent abyss.”<\/p>\n

RoadOut Demo<\/a>: “RoadOut is a story-driven adventure that combines top down action-RPG elements with rubber-burning driving mechanics. Explore a vast post-apocalyptic world in your car, then battle your way through puzzle-filled dungeons on foot. With inspirations from The Legend of Zelda, GTA and Rock’n Roll Racing, RoadOut has a rich story full of surprises, missions and rip-roaring races.”<\/p>\n

Showgunners Demo<\/a>: “In a dystopian future where corporations rule, a brutal reality show is the hottest entertainment property in town! You play as Scarlett Martillo, a contestant out for revenge. To win, you must navigate dangerous urban arenas packed with lethal traps and face off against hordes of heavily-armed psychopaths.”<\/p>\n

Star Ores Inc. Demo<\/a>: “Star Ores Inc. is an intergalactic mining adventure that catapults you onto an abandoned space station in the middle of space. As a freshly minted entrepreneur, you begin your career in a world full of ores, machines, and galactic possibilities.”<\/p>\n

STONKS-9800: Stock Market Simulator Demo<\/a>: “Make your fortune in the high-stakes world of the Japanese stock market with STONKS-9800. As a businessman in the 80s & 90s, you’ll buy & sell stocks, manage your finances, & watch your profits grow. But beware – your actions will have consequences on the market. Can you rise to the top?”<\/p>\n

Tenebris Somnia Demo<\/a>: “Tenebris Somnia is a 2D retro survival horror adventure game with live action cutscenes created by an award winning film crew from Argentina. Unveil the depths of a disturbing story by solving puzzles and fighting horrible creatures.”<\/p>\n

Townseek Demo<\/a>: “Take to the skies on a whimsical voyage across Explora and uncover the lost legacy of Sir Reginald Sharkingston! Trade, fish, mine, and farm, meeting whimsical characters and exploring vibrant towns along the way. The whole world is your sea now, so set sail and see all it has to offer!”<\/p>\n

Worshippers of Cthulhu Demo<\/a>: “Worshippers of Cthulhu Demo is a game that combines city-building, resource management, and strategic decision-making within a world inspired by H.P. Lovecraft.”<\/p>\n

Under Par Golf Architect Demo<\/a>: “Design world-class golf courses by terraforming rough wasteland into lush fairways for smooth drives and pristine greens to ensure a true roll for every putt.”<\/p>\n
