Yes, his form’s not been great but I understand his frustration.”<\/p>\n A stern-looking Carragher could be seen with his arms crossed before urging Richards to stop.<\/p>\n He then responded: “Winning 2-0, Leeds come back to 2-2, the ball is in play for about three minutes before Liverpool score to make it 3-2.<\/p>\n “So the only time you could criticise Arne Slot for not putting him on…”<\/p>\n Richards quickly interrupted to argue he was not criticising Slot, prompting Carragher to ask: “Who are you criticising then? He’s the one who decides.<\/p>\n “What I’m saying is, there was a three-minute window between 2-2 and 3-2. You’re not going to bring Mo Salah on when Liverpool are in front, you’re not.<\/p>\n “Because he’s not going to defend on set pieces and he’s not going to run back for you.”<\/p>\n Richards added: “There’s more to the game than set pieces. Mo Salah’s become a player who doesn’t even get on the pitch now. It’s ridiculous.”<\/p>\n Carragher continued, though, explaining: “Hang on, Liverpool have got major problems with set pieces.<\/p>\n “You’ve got to think what the manager is thinking on the side of the pitch: ‘Am I going to bring a guy on who doesn’t defend and is not going to help me on set pieces because he’s so small?’<\/p>\n “So there’s a two or three-minute window, where you could say he maybe should have brought him on there but then Liverpool made it 3-2.<\/p>\n 5<\/p>\n Richards admitted he understands Salah’s frustration at being left on the bench at LeedsCredit: Getty<\/p>\n “By the way, by the player who’s playing in his position (Dominik) Szoboszlai.
