Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie is scheduled to arrive in just a little over a year. A sequel, titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/avengers-secret-wars\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Avengers: Secret Wars<\/a>, is then dated for December 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Not included in the cast for Avengers: Doomsday are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/jeremy-renner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Renner<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/hawkeye\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hawkeye<\/a>\/Clint Barton and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/don-cheadle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Don Cheadle<\/a>\u2019s James \u201cRhodey\u201d Rhodes\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/war-machine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">War Machine<\/a>. Both Renner and Cheadle have been part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/mcu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MCU<\/a> since the franchise\u2019s very first phase; however, up until now, there hasn\u2019t been any clear reason or explanation given as to why they won\u2019t be showing up in Doomsday.<\/p>\n<p>Why won\u2019t Hawkeye and War Machine be back in Avengers: Doomsday?<\/p>\n<p>Scooper Alex Perez of <a href=\"https:\/\/thecosmiccircus.com\/alex-perez-december-qa-part-1-avengers-doomsday-secret-wars-and-beyond\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Cosmic Circus<\/a> was asked if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/marvel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marvel<\/a> secretly had plans to bring Hawkeye and\/or War Machine into Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. Perez said he didn\u2019t know for sure; however, he did offer an answer as to what the characters are currently up to.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRhodey is currently in recovery since the events of\u00a0Secret Invasion,\u00a0and Marvel is still reeling with that fallout. And Clint is retired. I don\u2019t know if they\u2019ll be back,\u201d Perez wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Whether or not Avengers: Doomsday acknowledges their absence at all remains to be seen. The film \u2014 which features an all-star ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, and many more \u2014 will be released on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
