{"id":308434,"date":"2025-12-10T07:24:12","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T07:24:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/308434\/"},"modified":"2025-12-10T07:24:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T07:24:12","slug":"aragorn-to-be-recast-in-hunt-for-gollum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/308434\/","title":{"rendered":"Aragorn To Be Recast In &#8220;Hunt for Gollum&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/aragorn-to-be-recast-in-hunt-for-gollum.jpg\" data-caption=\"New Line Cinema\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/aragorn-to-be-recast-in-hunt-for-gollum.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"aragorn-to-be-recast-in-hunt-for-gollum\"\/><\/a>New Line Cinema<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming Andy Serkis-directed \u201cThe Lord of the Rings: The Hunt For Gollum\u201d is expected to see multiple actors from the original \u201cThe Lord of the Rings\u201d trilogy reprising their roles.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, the film is set just prior to the events of \u201cThe Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring\u201d as Aragorn, Gandalf, and Sauron are all looking for Gollum and the story will unfold from Gollum\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n<p>It was previously confirmed that characters like Frodo and Gandalf all appear in the movie, with Aragorn expected to be a major role as he is tasked by Gandalf to find Gollum before the creature can share any sensitive information about the One Ring with anyone and have it get back to Sauron.<\/p>\n<p>Actor Viggo Mortensen is notably older than he was during his time as Aragorn, but the previous plan was to potentially use de-aging tech and get the actor back for the role.<\/p>\n<p>Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/knightedgemedia.com\/2025\/12\/aragorn-will-be-recast-in-lord-of-the-rings-the-hunt-for-gollum-exclusive\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Knight Edge Media<\/a> is reporting that the production has instead opted to go for a younger actor in the role.
