Cheryl Hines<\/a> played down her relationship with her Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star Larry David since her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a>, joined the Trump administration. <\/p>\n

The actress said she has not spoken to David, her on-screen husband of 24 years, because \u201che\u2019s mad… because Bobby\u2019s in the administration.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview with NewsNation\u2019s<\/a> Elizabeth Vargas, Hines said she \u201cwould be fine talking to Larry.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cSomebody asked me, what would happen if you walked into a restaurant and he was there? I would be happy to see him, and I\u2019d say hi, and we\u2019d talk for a second.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hines added, \u201cIt\u2019s not like Larry and I used to play pickleball, and we don\u2019t now. You know what I mean? I would really see him at work or things like that once in a while, have lunch, but I haven\u2019t really been around in L.A. the same time he has, so I don\u2019t know,\u201d Hines continued. \u201cI\u2019m sure things would be fine with us. And at the same time, I\u2019m sure he\u2019s not happy about politics.\u201d<\/p>\n

In October, Hines, 60, said<\/a> that the two have not talked in about a year and a half.<\/p>\n

The Daily Beast has reached out to David for comment.<\/p>\n

David, 78, introduced Hines to her husband in 2006. RFK Jr. once told The Hollywood Reporter that he asked David for his \u201cpermission\u201d<\/a> before pursuing Hines seriously. \u201cHe said he was so excited about it. And he said, \u2018She\u2019s the best person that I\u2019ve ever met,\u2019\u201d Kennedy, who is now President Donald Trump\u2019s health and human services secretary<\/a>, said.<\/p>\n

David has been an outspoken critic of Trump and his administration. The comedian referred to Trump as \u201ca sick man\u201d<\/a> in a 2024 interview with CNN\u2019s Chris Wallace. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s thrown 250 years of democracy out the window by not accepting the results of [the election],\u201d David said, referring to Trump contesting the 2020 election<\/a>. \u201cI mean, it\u2019s so crazy. He\u2019s such a sociopath. He\u2019s so insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

While his views on Trump have been made clear<\/a>, David has not criticized<\/a> his former co-star or Kennedy directly. During Kennedy\u2019s campaign for the presidency<\/a>, he told The New York Times he felt \u201ca lot of support and love from most of her friends, including Larry [David].\u201d David later clarified to the outlet via text, \u201cYes, love and support, but I\u2019m not \u2018supporting\u2019 him.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Hines\u2019 conversation with Vargas, to promote her memoir, Unscripted, she admitted her surprise that her husband\u2019s politics have \u201cdivided\u201d people in her life. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI do have a few friends that I know are just very upset by even Bobby being in the administration, it\u2019s very upsetting to them, and I understand that, I respect it,\u201d Hines said, while also emphasizing that she hasn\u2019t had \u201cany falling outs.\u201d <\/p>\n
