Cornwall<\/a> Partnership NHS Foundation Trust said: \u201cWe have been made aware of an unapproved briefing given to staff at Falmouth Community Hospital which contains information that is not an accurate reflection of our current position.\n<\/p>\n\n “This briefing has been rescinded, and we are sorry for any distress it has caused to staff and the local community.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n The trust emphasised its commitment to the hospital, describing it as a \u201cmuch-valued local asset.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Plans to modernise the facility include installing a new heating system, potentially in spring 2026, though an exact date has yet to be confirmed.\n<\/p>\n
\n During the works, the Trust will review how services, including inpatient wards, can operate safely.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cShould this mean different working arrangements, we will of course consult with staff,\u201d the spokesperson added.\n<\/p>\n
\n The rumours were also raised at a Falmouth Town Council meeting on Monday, where Councillor David Saunby said he had heard claims that wards were closing.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, after contacting the hospital, he said he also learned the changes relate to heating upgrades rather than permanent closures.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cPatients are being moved out but then they\u2019ll come back again,\u201d Cllr Saunby said.\n<\/p>\n
\n He acknowledged concerns that patients might need to travel to Treliske or receive home care during the works, but stressed that the hospital intends to reopen wards once the heating system is installed.\n<\/p>\n
