Michelle Dewberry was left furious this evening, scolding a GB News guest who would not “answer the question”.<\/p>\n

Labour councillor Stuart Fawcett faced a telling-off from the host as she said “we have not got time for this”. <\/p>\n

Mr Fawcett has been speaking to the panel about Britain’s migrant crisis, but Michelle snapped: “Please, for the love of God, can you answer a question? <\/p>\n

“She\u2019s asking if you scanned these fellas\u2019 faces coming from Timbuktu. What protection is that going to give the British citizen? So they\u2019re kept secure here?”<\/p>\n

He responded: “There’s a huge policy here and we need to tell people about this, which is that we are moving people, these asylum seekers, migrants into secure sites, often former military establishments.”<\/p>\n

Reform UK Councillor Laila Cunningham hit back: “That is not happening.” <\/p>\n

Mr Fawcett responded: \u201cYes, it is happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Cunningham replied: \u201cYou\u2019ve just signed a hotel contract until 2029 for billions of pounds. You have no expectation of reducing it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Fawcett then added: \u201cWe have also taken back a lot of profits from hotel operators that were taking excessive profits.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Cunningham commented: \u201cThat\u2019s different. It shouldn\u2019t be paid at all. I shouldn\u2019t pay for any of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Labour Councillor then cut in: \u201cI do need an opportunity to respond.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michelle Dewberry gave him the floor: \u201cWell, go on, answer the question.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Fawcett said: \u201cWe\u2019ve changed that policy from hotels because it is clear that people don\u2019t consent to that happening in their communities. <\/p>\n

“And that is totally right. They\u2019ve been moved to secure sites, processed, and returned as is under international law. And we\u2019re actually moving that to become more of a deficit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michelle finished off the programme by speaking directly to GB News guests: “I can hear you shouting at your TV and at your radios. <\/p>\n

“You want these people to be stopped from coming into this country in the first place, not arguing about where they’re go.” <\/p>\n

It comes after the true cost of Britain’s asylum system was revealed in a damning report by Britain’s spending watchdog.<\/p>\n

Labour’s short-term tweaks to the system have fuelled soaring backlogs and resulted in wasted taxpayer money, according to a report by the National Audit Office (NAO).<\/p>\n

The NAO details how the cost of supporting asylum seekers has become \u201cdisproportionately high\u201d, reaching an estimated \u00a34.9billion in 2024\/25 as delays spiral.<\/p>\n

In a sample of 5,000 people who lodged claims almost three years ago, more than half were still waiting for a decision.<\/p>\n

The NAO said the growing backlog is eroding public confidence – and causing “hardship and uncertainty” for asylum seekers.<\/p>\n

It urged ministers to improve data collection and adopt a joined-up, whole-system approach across Government departments.<\/p>\n
