Following a recent large event in Crown Heights where a product with Triangle-K certification was mistakenly distributed, the CHK Vaad HaKashrus issued a public statement clarifying its policy. <\/p>\n
The CHK emphasized that, under the guidance of the Rabbonim of the Beis Din of Crown Heights, products bearing Triangle-K certification are deemed unreliable and are not acceptable. The decision reflects CHK\u2019s kashrus protocols and commitment to ensuring that all products used in the community meet their established standards.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn response to numerous inquiries we received, the Crown Heights Kashrus (CHK) wishes to inform the community about our policy regarding Triangle-K kashrus supervision.<\/p>\n
\u201cProducts bearing Triangle-K certification are not considered acceptable under CHK standards, in accordance with common standards across Kashrus agencies.\u201d<\/p>\n
The incident generated considerable discussion on WhatsApp groups, with some rabbis reportedly downplaying the concern. In response, the CHK and Rabbi Nissan Zibbel of \u201cKashrus Be in the Know\u201d confirmed the hechsher as problematic. Other rabbonim refrained from sharing their concerns publicly due to fear of retaliation.<\/p>\n
Another product with this hechsher is Vintage flavored seltzer, sold at some Crown Heights stores.
