Christmas in\u00a0Emmerdale<\/a>\u00a0this year is going to be\u00a0tense and dramatic<\/a>, with Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) and Ray Walters (Joe Absolom)\u2019\u00a0reign of terror still ongoing and Aaron (Danny Miller) and Robert (Ryan Hawley) in deadly danger. So it\u2019s good to know that there\u2019s something celebratory to look forward to.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Friday (December 12)\u2019s episode,\u00a0Jacob Gallagher<\/a>\u00a0(Joe-Warren Plant<\/a>) confirmed to his fiancee\u00a0Sarah Sugden<\/a>\u00a0(Katie Hill<\/a>) that he\u2019d booked their registry office wedding \u2013 and it\u2019s going to be on Christmas Eve.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The couple were\u00a0planning a much bigger wedding<\/a>, but the events of the Christmas Fayre made them think again. <\/p>\n

Sarah\u2019s gran, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), and\u00a0Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton)<\/a>, who has become part of Jacob\u2019s family since she now lives with his granddad Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell), were at loggerheads throughout the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both fiercely competitive, they went head to head in an effort to win the grand prize of an e-bike, which turned out to be a model bike anyway. <\/p>\n

As they bickered and cheated their way through the various games, annoying Kyle (Huey Quinn) and Moses (Arthur Cockroft) who they were officially meant to be\u00a0\u2018helping,\u2019\u00a0Sarah and Jacob realised they\u2019d be an absolute nightmare at the wedding.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jacob tried to reason with Kerry, saying that he needed her to get on with Charity for the sake of him and Sarah, but it wasn\u2019t long before she was sparring with Charity again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So Jacob suggested to Sarah that they could just quietly get married by themselves and tell everyone afterwards, and Sarah agreed and suggested Christmas Eve.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In this episode, Jacob got confirmation of his booking so the plan is going ahead. Sarah was pleased, but she had some reservations. She\u2019s a Dingle, and a wedding isn\u2019t a wedding without a party and the new family member (Jacob) drinking from the ceremonial welly, and she didn\u2019t want to miss out on that.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

So Jacob came up with a plan. They\u2019re due to go to Charity\u2019s 20 week scan and hope that they\u2019ll find out the gender of the baby she\u2019s expecting, which they believe is theirs that Charity is carrying as a surrogate. <\/p>\n

Viewers know that Charity slept with Ross Barton (Mike Parr) and\u00a0the baby is actually hers and Ross\u2019s<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jacob\u2019s idea is for the wedding to be disguised as a gender reveal party. They\u2019ll assemble all their loved ones for the party, and then bus them off to the wedding. That way there\u2019ll be no time for either Kerry or Charity to get involved in any of the planning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a nice idea, and there\u2019s nothing better than a festive soap wedding \u2013 but with Charity keeping such a massive secret about the baby, could something happen to derail the wedding plans?\u00a0<\/p>\n
