Rhona Goskirk<\/a>\u00a0(Zoe Henry<\/a>), Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and their family find themselves in a horrific situation in\u00a0Emmerdale<\/a>\u00a0after discovering exactly how ruthless and dangerous drugs boss\u00a0Celia Daniels<\/a>\u00a0(Jaye Griffiths<\/a>) is.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Their daughter April (Amelia Flanagan) finally admitted to them that she\u2019d been\u00a0coerced into dealing drugs\u00a0<\/a>for Celia and her son Ray (Joe Absolom). Before they could go to the police or take any other action, Celia paid them a visit. <\/p>\n

She showed them a live stream on her phone of April\u2019s boyfriend Dylan (Fred Kettle) being deliberately run over by Ray, and the family realised they were all in huge danger.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Marlon and Rhona came up with a plan to flee the village with their kids, but this was thwarted by Ray.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In upcoming episodes Marlon and Rhona keep a vigil by Dylan\u2019s bed as he recovers in hospital, trying to keep him safe from Celia and Ray. Their hope is that Dylan will eventually tell the police\u00a0everything he knows<\/a>\u00a0and Ray and Celia will be arrested. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile April is terrified of the repercussions if Dylan talks and she\u2019s secretly begging him not to.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Marlon is terrified that he can\u2019t keep his family safe and the only strategy seems to be to keep their heads down. <\/p>\n

While all this has been going on,\u00a0Rhona\u2019s mum Mary<\/a>\u00a0(Louise Jameson<\/a>) has been away on a retreat. Rhona panics when Mary is due to return, because she knows her mum will pick up on the tense atmosphere. <\/p>\n

As she has a background in journalism, she\u2019ll try to dig for the truth of what\u2019s happening and won\u2019t give up.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

So Rhona decides the only way is to make sure Mary leaves the village and stays away. <\/p>\n

She tries to convince her to leave, and when it becomes clear that all she\u2019s doing is rousing Mary\u2019s suspicions, she resorts to being absolutely vile to her mum, saying things that could wreck their relationship for ever in an attempt to drive her out of the village and away from danger.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all done for the best of reason, but for Mary it\u2019s incredibly hurtful. Louise Jameson told us how Mary is feeling at this point.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2019What they\u2019ve very cleverly done is a device that Shakespeare uses, putting the audience in possession of the secret why Mary is booted out of the house \u2013 and hopefully out of the village as far as Rhona is concerned \u2013 in order to keep her safe.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018All Mary gets is this rejection on an enormous scale, that she\u2019s no longer valued, needed, wanted. She can offer nothing to the family except grief, so would she please eff off. How hurtful is that?\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Will Rhona\u2019s strategy work?\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Celia doesn\u2019t mark Christmas\u2019, star Jaye Griffiths said as she teased what\u2019s ahead for her character over the festive period. <\/p>\n

\u2018And this year she is planning on them leaving the area. As it has all got too complicated, April\u2019s family are an irritant to her and things are also getting complicated business wise as Moira is becoming troublesome by asking too many questions. <\/p>\n

\u2018But more alarmingly Ray has gone and fallen in love. So she\u2019s extricating them to another area. It is clear that this is something they have done before \u2013 find another farm in another location and set up their enterprise again.\u2019<\/p>\n
