A woman had died after a house fire in Dunmurry, making her the third house fire fatality in a 24 hour period in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called to the scene on an ongoing fire in the Areema Drive area before 4am on Saturday morning where a woman in her 40s was announced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
A PSNI<\/a> spokesperson said: “At approximately 3.55am on Saturday morning, 13th December police received a report of an ongoing fire at a property in the Areema Drive area.<\/p>\n READ MORE: NIFRS statement after two die in separate house fires in one day<\/a>READ MORE: Tragedy strikes as two people die in Friday house fires<\/a><\/p>\n “Officers attended alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service who extinguished the fire.<\/p>\n “Sadly a woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A man aged in his 50s, a 19-year-old woman, and 11-year-old girl who were also in the property, were taken onward to hospital for treatment to smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n “Officers are continuing to conduct enquiries into the circumstances of the fire. At this stage, however, it is not being treated as suspicious.”<\/p>\n On Friday, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 50s died in two separate house fire incidents. Police were notified of a fire in the Queen Victoria Gardens area of North Belfast<\/a> at around 11.00am.<\/p>\n Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service extinguished the blaze but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n The second fire occurred in the Abbey Park area of Bangor<\/a>, at around 12.30pm.
