Alan Shearer<\/a> has singled out Chelsea<\/a> star Malo Gusto<\/a> for praise after his impressive performance in Saturday\u2019s Premier League<\/a> win over Everton<\/a>.<\/p>\n Gusto provided an assist for Cole Palmer<\/a> in the first half and then got on the scoresheet himself after the break as the Blues won the game 2-0.<\/p>\n The 22-year-old France international was deployed as an inverted full-back against the Toffees and shined to help Chelsea move up into the top four.<\/p>\n Premier League legend Shearer, working as a football pundit for the BBC<\/a>, declared that Gusto was the \u2018stand-out Chelsea player\u2019 from the match.<\/p>\n \u2018A comfortable win for Chelsea,\u2019 Shearer said. \u2018Everton had a couple of opportunities but never looked like getting back into the game once it was 2-0.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tGet your football fix\t\t\t<\/p>\n Punchy analysis, transfer talk and more from Metro’s football experts sent straight to your inbox \u2013 sign up<\/a>, it’s an open goal.<\/p>\n \u2018Malo Gusto was the stand-out Chelsea player for me, not just in terms of the obvious with the goal and assist.<\/p>\n \u2018Also the questions he posed for Everton\u2026 linking up with Palmer and [Pedro] Neto down the right and moving into midfield alongside [Reece] James to create the extra man when needed.\u2019<\/p>\n Enzo Maresca \u2018very happy\u2019 for Malo Gusto<\/p>\n Quizzed about using Gusto and James as inverted full-backs against Everton, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca<\/a> told the BBC: \u2018Never with two, huh?<\/p>\n \u2018They are good players and when they are good players they can play in every position. They can play full-back and midfielder.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018[Malo Gusto] took the chance and his assist for Cole, so I am very happy for Malo.\u2019<\/p>\n Meanwhile, in his post-match press conference, Maresca hailed Palmer and declared that he was the \u2018best player\u2019 in the current Chelsea squad.<\/p>\n \u2018With Cole, we are a better team,\u2019 Maresca said.<\/p>\n \u2018I really praise the players and the squad because we\u2019ve played 16 Premier League games, five of them without Moises Caicedo, 11 of them without Palmer, almost all of them without Liam Delap. <\/p>\n \u2018This squad has been doing fantastic. We have played almost the whole season without our best player.<\/p>\n \u2018I am so happy for the players.
