Leeds United secured a point at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon, drawing 1-1 with Brentford following Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s late equaliser.<\/p>\n
The hosts opened the scoring in the 70th minute, but a towering header from Leeds’ number 9 confirmed a point would be travelling back to West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n
Daniel Farke gave his thoughts after the game. Speaking to the media, he said: “I’m still a bit in between because actually I thought we should have won this game. <\/p>\n
“It was a tight game overall, there’s no doubt about this, but the crucial statistics, goals, expected goals, shots, shots on target, big chances, possession, we were dominating this game, especially the second half. <\/p>\n
“They have an amazing home record, they’ve beaten all the top sides. We are the first side for ages who travels away here with points. For that, it’s definitely a good, valuable point, especially coming back again with a late equaliser, again out of a losing position.<\/p>\n
“The feeling was still that we could have won the game. So first half, I think a tight first half, I liked the outcome because we didn’t allow chances and we had a clean sheet and probably the better chances, but I didn’t like exactly the way we played. <\/p>\n
“I think we could have been more confident and more braver, had a few mistakes and details in our pressing and also in possession changes at half-time. <\/p>\n
“The second half was excellent. I think we played on the front foot, brought the game into their half, pushed really to go in ahead.”<\/p>\n
On Ethan Ampadu’s performance: “Just a short answer during a press conference is not enough to describe him. He’s unbelievable performance-wise and what he’s done in the last 100 games for us is second to none, but also how important he is for the dressing room. <\/p>\n
“He’s my leader and my captain and he makes sure that this group is so, so tied together.<\/p>\n
“It’s a joy to work with him each and every day. He’s an excellent player and still a player who improves more or less really on at least on a monthly base.
