Huddersfield Giants have touched down in Tenerife as they step up their pre-season training programme.<\/p>\n

Luke Robinson\u2019s side struggled through the 2025 Super League season and while they did find pockets of success and form, they weren\u2019t enough to avoid finishing 10th in the Super League table.<\/p>\n

Injuries were a major issue for the Giants and Robinson will be keen to see his side make the most of the next few weeks and months to ensure his key players stay on the field.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a big season for the Giants in that respect then, but when it comes to recruitment and retention, it\u2019s absolutely massive.<\/p>\n

A host of stars are off-contract and over the course of 2026, the Giants will either be looking to retain or replace them.<\/p>\n

Huddersfield Giants contract state of play<\/p>\n

2026: Adam Clune, Adam Swift, Jacob Gagai, Kieran Rush, Mathieu Cozza, Matty English, Taane Milne, Tui Lolohea<\/p>\n

There\u2019s some big names on this list with a chunk of the Giants\u2019 backline in the final year of their respective deals.<\/p>\n

Clune is the most notable and he\u2019s arguably Huddersfield\u2019s most important player when he\u2019s fit. The problem though is that injuries have got the best of his time at Huddersfield so far and his record will certainly come into the Giants\u2019 thinking in regards to his future.<\/p>\n

Tui Lolohea is another half-back whose fate is in the balance and the Giants might wait to see how he starts the season before making a decision there.<\/p>\n

Jacob Gagai and Taane Milne impressed last season and the West Yorkshire outfit should be looking to keep them on, while Adam Swift is another who has been blighted with injuries at the Accu Stadium. At his best he\u2019s still one of the best wingers in the competition but his injury record is lengthy.<\/p>\n

Matty English will surely pen a new deal, while the onus is on Kieran Rush to show that he deserves to be part of the Giants\u2019 squad for the next few years at least.<\/p>\n

2027: Asher O\u2019Donnell, Chris Patolo, Harry Rushton, Jack Billington, Joe Greenwood, Liam Sutcliffe, Niall Evalds, Sam Halsall, Sam Hewitt, Tom Burgess, Tristan Powell, Zac Woolford, George Flanagan<\/p>\n

George Flanagan\u2019s future might be one to address this season to prevent the talented youngster from entering the final 12 months of his deal. It would not be a surprise if clubs were monitoring his situation and the Giants would hate to lose him before he reaches his peak.<\/p>\n

However, for most other names contracted until 2027, their futures might just depend on how they perform through the upcoming campaign.<\/p>\n

2028: George King<\/p>\n

King joined from Hull KR on a four-year deal ahead of the 2025 season and after missing the first 10 rounds of the year, he\u2019ll be keen to make much more of an impact next season.<\/p>\n

2029: Fenton Rogers<\/p>\n

Rogers is clearly highly rated at the Accu Stadium and he\u2019ll be with the Giants long-term.<\/p>\n

Unknown: Oliver Russell, Connor Carr<\/p>\n

Carr was thought to be off-contract in 2025 but he remains with the club, while the length of Oliver Russell\u2019s deal with the Giants hasn\u2019t been made clear following his move back from Wakefield Trinity.<\/p>\n
