It\u2019s been another exciting and successful year for the Andres, albeit not without its challenges. But amid all the ups and downs of the past twelve months, Pete says during a sparkly exclusive shoot with OK!<\/a> that one person has been his constant.<\/p>\n \u201cEmily <\/a>has been my absolute rock through any tough times and the good,\u201d he says. \u201cShe\u2019s my partner in crime. We laugh so much.\u201dEmily adds, \u201cYou know, it\u2019s funny, Pete\u2019s name in Greek actually means rock. And he is literally my rock, in every way.\u201d<\/p>\n Pete\u2019s grown-up children \u2013 Princess, 18, and Junior, 20 \u2013 have had a particularly memorable year. Junior has continued with his music and moved in with his girlfriend Jasmine<\/a>, while his sister Princess launched her hit reality show, The Princess Diaries. \u201cThey\u2019re great kids,\u201d Pete smiles. \u201cFor me, it\u2019s important that they stay humble, and they really are.\u201d<\/p>\n Princess<\/a>\u2019s fly-on-the-wall series, which Junior regularly appears in, has been renewed for another two seasons <\/a>thanks to impressive viewing figures, and proud dad Pete says, \u201cI just want them to shine, to show people what they are made of and to be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n Pete and Emily celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in Jul<\/a>y, and reflecting on their happy marriage, he says, \u201cWill we make it to 70 years of marriage like my mum and dad? Probably not, as I\u2019m too old! But Emily\u2019s someone I could easily see myself being married to for 70 years.<\/p>\n \u201cWe might disagree on the thermostat, but we\u2019ve never had a serious argument in 10 years. We\u2019re solid. When things feel negative and a bit harsh, you realise the love you\u2019ve got.\u201d Laughing, Emily adds, \u201cWe also bicker about the freezer \u2013 and yes, we do need to keep it full of food we never use!\u201d<\/p>\n Pete admits there is one bittersweet element of the season, however, when his thoughts turn to his beloved mum Thea, who lives in Australia with dad, Savvas.<\/p>\n Now 89, Thea suffers from both Parkinson\u2019s and dementia and Pete, who hopes to fly out there after Christmas to see them both, worries that this Christmas could be his mum\u2019s last.<\/p>\n \u201cOf course I worry this could be Mum\u2019s last Christmas<\/a>. She\u2019s very delicate\u201d, he says softly. \u201cHer Parkinson\u2019s has progressed quite a bit. Her speech is almost gone. She\u2019ll say a word or two. It\u2019s heartbreaking, because she\u2019s our world, our pillar of strength.<\/p>\n \u201cThen I see Dad and he\u2019s 92 and with her every single day. But he\u2019s getting delicate now, too. His memory\u2019s going, but I am so grateful that they made that milestone I prayed for \u2013 70 years of marriage<\/a> in September.\u201d<\/p>\n The singer admits he often gets emotional when thinking of his mum\u2019s devastating health struggles. \u201cIt\u2019s a raw pain,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019m a grown man, but I still can\u2019t accept in my heart that these things happen to the people I love the most.\u201d<\/p>\n Brought up as a Jehovah\u2019s Witness, Pete says that although he hasn\u2019t technically followed the Christian religious sect since he was 16, he has found himself praying again, \u201cbecause of my beautiful parents and their health\u201d.<\/p>\n But the star is palpably excited when he opens up about his festive plans with Emily, 36. \u201cGrowing up as a strict Jehovah\u2019s Witness,<\/a> we didn\u2019t celebrate Christmas as kids. So to live the magic through my kids is everything. We really go for it, prepping for Santa, the reindeers and all the magic. It\u2019s a beautiful time of year.\u201d<\/p>\n Emily agrees. \u201cWe love Christmas. It comes from my family. We always go big, but in a traditional way with stockings, games, the King\u2019s Speech – and usually me falling asleep watching Home Alone!”<\/p>\n One big change this year is that the Andres are heading out to a local restaurant for Christmas lunch. \u201cWe usually prep lunch on Christmas eve. Last year it took Pete and I four hours,\u201d explains Emily. \u201cWe always wear matching Christmas pyjamas all day, so this might actually be the year I put on some make-up and a nice outfit.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cJunior and Princess will probably be the first to bring their stockings downstairs on Christmas morning,\u201d Pete says. \u201cIt\u2019s sweet that it\u2019s still their favourite part of the day. We make sure Santa doesn\u2019t forget the adults.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPrincess and Junior are more excited about opening their stockings than the little ones,\u201d agrees Emily. \u201cWe cut up a pair of tights to make them, like my family always did. You can get a lot of stuff in a pair of tights \u2013 chocolate, little games, socks.\u201d<\/p>\n The day will kick off with the whole family at home \u2013 with Pete and Emily\u2019s children Millie, 11, Theo, nine, and Arabella, 20 months, as well as Pete\u2019s older children Princess and Junior and Junior\u2019s girlfriend, Jasmine.<\/p>\n And their home is gorgeously decked out for the festive season, with two Christmas tress and baubles and foliage adorning their banisters. \u201cTheo and Millie have trees in their bedrooms too,\u201d says Pete. \u201cWe use lots of sentimental decorations, like ones the kids have made over the years. The house is sparkling.<\/p>\n \u201cI used to think Christmas wasn\u2019t a big deal, but every year I get really excited now seeing all their little eyes light up. England for me at Christmas is like nowhere else. It\u2019s got a bit of a New York, Home Alone vibe. And there\u2019s a lot of us. It\u2019s beautiful chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n The pair do get into it a little when we ask about whether they\u2019ll go large on the presents this year. Pete says he may go \u201ca little crazy\u201d, while Emily says they most definitely will not.<\/p>\n The eldest of their three children together, Millie, is now an official tween, but both her parents agree that she won\u2019t be disappearing off upstairs to look at her phone on Christmas Day \u2013 or throwing any mini strops.<\/p>\n Emily says, \u201cI\u2019m kind of strict on screen time.<\/a> She\u2019s allowed it for one hour on Saturday and one hour on Sunday, no social media, no WhatsApp and only downstairs. I don\u2019t mind telly as we\u2019re all together, but they don\u2019t have iPads or phones in the week. She doesn\u2019t even complain, bless her.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere are no moody moments,\u201d Pete adds. \u201cShe\u2019s thriving at secondary school and she loves spending time with us at home. We don\u2019t have to convince her. She\u2019s a sweetheart.\u201d<\/p>\n Pete admits, catering for a family where the ages range from one to 20 can be \u201ccrazy\u201d, but Emily says the dynamic works really well. \u201cThe older two are so lovely with the little ones,\u201d she says. \u201c Just today Junior came in and picked Belle up and gave her kisses and cuddles. And Princess is gorgeous with Millie \u2013 a real guiding light.<\/p>\n \u201cMillie\u2019s very open with me but she gets really good advice from Princess, and she listens to her as she\u2019s cool and young. They have girlie chats in Millie\u2019s room and that melts my heart. I always wanted a sister for that reason, but I got four brothers instead \u2013 which is also great.\u201d<\/p>\n Little Arabella <\/a>will be a lot more aware this Christmas, which her parents can\u2019t wait to see. They just need to stop her wrecking the decorations. \u201cAll I know is my Christmas tree is already getting ruined,\u201d laughs Emily. \u201cShe loves the twinkly lights, the presents underneath \u2013 she\u2019s obsessed!\u201d<\/p>\n Christmas may be hectic, but Pete and Emily have somehow managed to steal time for some festive romance. \u201cWe had a date night the other night,\u201d Emily says. \u201cWe go through phases where we\u2019re great, then we go slack.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, it\u2019s so important to remember who you are as a couple,\u201d Pete says. \u201cWe\u2019ve started getting date nights back in the diary at last.\u201d<\/p>\n As the couple wind down after a hectic year, they both have big hopes for 2026. Emily\u2019s goal is to move more, she says, before admitting she said the same thing this time last year and still hasn\u2019t managed a workout. She says, \u201cI\u2019m on my feet a lot, but I\u2019m not sure that counts. Isn\u2019t that just being alive?\u201d<\/p>\n Pete, loved-up as ever, would beg to differ. \u201cYes, and you look amazing! You are 100% going to be like Liz Hurley<\/a> in your fifties. Whatever she\u2019s doing, she\u2019s doing it right. You\u2019re gorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n Clearly feeling sentimental as Christmas looms, Pete\u2019s hope is to find \u201ca cure for all the ills of old age, or to slow down ageing altogether.\u201d<\/p>\n He explains, \u201cIt might not be in my lifetime \u2013 or my mum\u2019s, much as I\u2019d pray for it \u2013 but I hope it\u2019s there in my children\u2019s lifetime. I\u2019m aiming to live to 115, 120. Wishful thinking, but my hope would be our kids outliving us all.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, next year is already looking jam-packed for them both. Emily\u2019s new children\u2019s book \u2013 her fifth to date <\/a>\u2013 hits shelves in January.<\/p>\n Aimed at teenagers and entitled Periods: Everything You Need To Know, she admits it could come in useful soon with Millie.\u201cI\u2019m very proud of it. Millie\u2019s 11, so I know I\u2019ll be needing it soon. She loves my other books, which is the cutest thing.\u201d<\/p>\n As for Pete, he jokes \u201cwhere do I start?\u201d when asked about next year\u2019s projects. \u201cI\u2019ve written my first ever film, so watch this space. I\u2019ve got a UK tour of Frankie Valli in January, I\u2019ve been recording my first album in over 10 years, a tour\u2026<\/p>\n “And somewhere in between, spending precious time with Mum and Dad and my gorgeous family.
