(Image: Submitted)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;We saw it from our living room which overlooks a part of the stream that borders our garden.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;We are\u00a0fairly certain it looked like an alligator snout out of water, \u00a0though it had disappeared downstream by the time we grabbed a phone to take a photo.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Following the report and the lack of a photo, another Oxford resident has jokingly claimed that they too have spotted a &#8220;crocodile&#8221; in the waterway.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  An Oxford Mail reader said: &#8220;I read with interest your story about the crocodile sighting in the mill stream.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;I have seen crocodiles in that stretch of the river for many years, but I also saw this fearsome one in November at Sunnymead in the Cherwell.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  READ MORE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oxfordmail.co.uk\/news\/25691580.council-issues-union-flag-warning-oxfordshire-residents\/?ref=ed_recent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Council issues Union Flag warning to Oxfordshire residents<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>A &#8220;crocodile&#8221; was allegedly sighted in Oxford last week (stock photo). (Image: Unsplash)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They humorously attached a photo showing a log in the water, similar in shape and size to the snout of a crocodile or alligator.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Last week, the first spotter added: &#8220;Its snout, which was on the smaller size, was visible above the water, and it was drifting along with the unusual current, likely caused by the rain at the time.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;There\u2019s a chance it could have been something else, but we had a clear view,\u00a0and we were shocked, given that they don\u2019t have a natural habitat in the UK so it\u2019s bizarre to see them in the wild.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;We did a bit of Googling and realised that there&#8217;s a crocodile zoo at Brize Norton, not too far away.
