While you wait, Empire<\/a> has shared a brand new exclusive image from\u00a028 Years Later: The Bone Temple\u00a0that spotlights the return of\u00a0Ralph Fiennes\u00a0as the mysterious Dr. Kelson.<\/p>\n

Nia DaCosta tells Empire, \u201cMy movie is quite\u2026\u00a0weird. It\u2019s surprising. There were multiple moments reading the script where my jaw dropped, literally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The titular bone temple is a primary location in\u00a0Danny Boyle\u2019s\u00a0trilogy-starter, and the title of DaCosta\u2019s sequel makes it clear we\u2019ll returning to that location.\u00a0The Bone Temple\u00a0will focus on\u00a0Jack O\u2019Connell\u2019s\u00a0\u201cSir Jimmy Crystal\u201d and his merry band of evil-doers, with young hero Spike (Alfie Williams) also returning. Here\u2019s the brand new official synopsis from Sony:<\/p>\n

Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and\u00a0Alex Garland\u00a0in\u00a028 Years Later\u00a0but turning that world on its head \u2013 Nia DaCosta directs\u00a028 Years Later: The Bone Temple.<\/p>\n

In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship \u2013 with consequences that could change the world as they know it \u2013 and Spike\u2019s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O\u2019Connell) becomes a nightmare he can\u2019t escape. In the world of\u00a0The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival \u2013 the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.<\/p>\n

Cillian Murphy\u2019s\u00a0character from\u00a028 Days Later\u00a0is also expected to make a brief appearance in\u00a0The Bone Temple, with the sequel\u2019s script once again being written by Alex Garland.<\/p>\n

The third installment in this new trilogy has been officially confirmed.<\/a><\/p>\n
