George Groves is less than impressed with Anthony Joshua\u2019s decision to fight Jake Paul and believes Eddie Hearn has sold his fighter out;<\/p>\n

George Groves: \u201cEddie Hearn has sold AJ out. Promoters aren\u2019t driven by the same things that fighters are driven by. They\u2019re driven by money. The financial gain they get is their legacy. Wouldn\u2019t it have been cool if Joshua just said, f*ck that, I\u2019m actually a professional. I\u2019m going to fight someone who\u2019s worthy of sharing a ring with me. I think it would\u2019ve been tough for most people, but I would walk away if I was Joshua. It\u2019s beneath me. Let someone else take the money. Let someone else sell out.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s Ready! Jake Paul Has Assembled A Formidable Team<\/p>\n

The YouTuber admitted his nose was broken in a recent sparring match and Groves thinks Paul is preparing properly;<\/p>\n

GG: \u201cI saw a picture where he actually had Okolie, Jared Anderson and then there was one other and I was like, that\u2019s a formidable sparring team that you\u2019ve accumulated for the Joshua fight. But what are you doing with them? Are you doing like 12 rounds and you\u2019re bringing them in fresh after every couple of rounds? Or is it literally just for the picture? But if he\u2019s doing it then he\u2019s leaving no stone unturned, he\u2019s managed to get himself some top quality sparring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conor Benn vs Ryan Garcia Could Be A Showstopper!<\/p>\n

Groves disagrees with Carl Froch that Ryan Garcia would outclass Conor Benn, adding that the showdown that would certainly pique his interest if it happens;<\/p>\n

GG: \u201cI like that fight [Benn vs Garcia]. I think it\u2019ll be an interesting build up. Garcia seems a little bit more with it these days, less wacky, more stable and that\u2019ll be a great fight. Conor Benn boxed brilliantly against Eubank and therefore deserves a big fight. I think there\u2019s a lot to like about Conor Benn right now. Let\u2019s see him in with some other top quality operators and see if he can continue to look good. But the Garcia fight makes a lot of sense for Conor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fabio Wardley Could Stun Usyk In Unification Bout<\/p>\n

Wardley recently picked up Oleksander Usyk\u2019s vacated WBO belt and the two heavyweights may end up meeting in a unification bout next year;<\/p>\n

GG: \u201cWho would back against Fabio Wardley [if he fought Usyk]? Does he have the ability to beat Usyk? Absolutely not, but can anything happen for him in the heavyweight division. Usyk vacated his belt so that Dubois could have it and then they could have a unification fight. I can sort of see the same, but with not even a fight in between for Wardley. Maybe they would do it in London, put it in a stadium. It\u2019s a unification fight. That could sell, really sell.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ben Whittaker Needs To Ramp It Up If He Wants World Title<\/p>\n

Ben Whittaker looked good against a novice opponent last time out and Groves wants to see a more serious test next time out;<\/p>\n

GG: \u201cWhittaker showed the ability that he\u2019s got [against Gavazzi]. He has lightning fast hands. He put his combinations together and he finished him with that right hand. It goes straight, down a pipe. Straight through the guard and he\u2019s left splatted on the floor. I think they\u2019re talking about 2027 for a world title. But he\u2019s definitely going to have to be going through the levels if he\u2019s going to be challenging for a world title.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anthony Yarde Will Never Split From Tunde Ajayi<\/p>\n

Anthony Yarde failed in his third attempt to win a world title, leading to calls for him to switch up his team of trainers and coaches;<\/p>\n

GG: \u201cIt\u2019s too late now [to change his coach]. They\u2019ve been training for so long. At times you do need to freshen it up. Tunde\u2019s not just like a rent-a-coach for him. They\u2019re fully invested and that\u2019s how they work. Therefore, when it does run its course, you can\u2019t do anything about it. I\u2019m not sure where he is at, at this stage. Benavidez was good. He\u2019s so crude, but strong and heavy handed. I thought maybe this would be Anthony\u2019s best chance of winning one.\u201d<\/p>\n
