Aspinall<\/a> told talkSPORT.com in October that he would transition to boxing<\/a> if he were in a good place to do so.<\/p>\n The 32-year-old has now said that he would be keen on fighting former UFC<\/a> heavyweight champion and current PFL star Francis Ngannou<\/a> if the opportunity arises.<\/p>\n In a video with Tommy Fury<\/a> on his YouTube channel<\/a>, Aspinall was asked by the British boxer whether a permanent move to the sport could come in the future.<\/p>\n Tom Aspinall: I like the idea of boxing Francis Ngannou<\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t try to be a world champion,” Aspinall, who had a successful professional boxing debut in 2017, responded.<\/p>\n READ MORE MMA NEWS<\/p>\n “You need to dedicate your whole life, don\u2019t you? To be a world champion.<\/p>\n \u201cI was [good at boxing], but I\u2019ve spent my whole life doing MMA now.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m nearly 33 now, so for me to be 33 and think I\u2019m gonna win a world title in boxing is unrealistic.”<\/p>\n Fury highlighted Aspinall’s freakish speed and agility as a heavyweight, which has led to six first-round KOs in the UFC<\/a> and the shortest average fight time in the promotion.<\/p>\n Aspinall continued: “I reckon I could have a couple of not freak-show fights, [but] big fights with a big name or something.<\/p>\n “I wouldn\u2019t mind boxing an MMA fighter.”<\/p>\n 4<\/p>\n Aspinall’s first undisputed heavyweight title defence ended in a no-contest, as the champion was poked in both eyesCredit: Getty<\/p>\n Fury then suggested that Ngannou would be a great opponent for Aspinall to step into the ring with.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that would be good \u2013 I like it,” Aspinall responded.<\/p>\n “[But]I\u2019ve got fights in the UFC to do first.”<\/p>\n Aspinall is currently out of action<\/a>, having been diagnosed with Brown’s syndrome<\/a> following his first undisputed heavyweight title defence against Ciryl Gane<\/a> at UFC 321.<\/p>\n Gane poked Aspinall in both eyes<\/a> in the first round, and the bout was ruled a no-contest<\/a>, as the champion could no longer see out of one eye.<\/p>\n UFC CEO Dana White<\/a> is looking to book the rematch<\/a> as soon as possible, but Aspinall could be out for months.<\/p>\n 4<\/p>\n Aspinall vs Ngannou in boxing is not an unrealistic proposition, given the current landscape of the sportCredit: Getty 4<\/p>\n Ngannou shocked the world when he dropped Tyson Fury in a split decision defeat to ‘The Gypsy King’ before Anthony Joshua knocked him out in his second pro fightCredit: Getty<\/p>\n Ngannou, meanwhile, has one fight left on his PFL contract<\/a>, and said this past weekend that he was ready to face PFL heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov.<\/p>\n Nemkov made easy work of Ngannou’s last MMA opponent<\/a>, Renan Ferreira, at PFL Lyon on Saturday night and called out Ngannou after his win.<\/p>\n Having previously mentioned Jon Jones<\/a> and Deontay Wilder<\/a> as ideal opponents next, Ngannou is now expected to see out his PFL contract before moving back into boxing.<\/p>\n ‘The Predator’ contested two lucrative bouts with Tyson Fury<\/a> and Anthony Joshua<\/a> in his first pro fights.<\/p>\n A clash with Aspinall in the future wouldn’t come as a great surprise, given the current landscape of modern boxing.<\/p>\n Read More on talkSPORT<\/p>\n Joshua, for example, faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul<\/a> on December 19.<\/p>\n Francis Ngannou reveals two-man hitlist and confirms PFL contract expires before UFC White House<\/p>\n![\"The](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/ufc-heavyweight-championship-fight-tom-1033891003.jpg\")
