A Bradford Bulls back who is without a deal for 2025 has given a brief update on future plans after spending time in rugby union of late.<\/p>\n

Jorge Taufua, who has previously played in the NRL and with Wakefield Trinity, was part of the Bradford Bulls<\/a> squad in 2024 as he helped them to a third-place finish in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Taufua had joined the Bulls midway through the 2023 season and has gone on to play 38 games, scoring 18 tries during that period, however, his future with Bradford is unknown.<\/p>\n

Off-contract at the end of the 2025 season, the Bulls have not confirmed a new deal for Taufua and he isn\u2019t currently training with them. Instead, he\u2019s playing for rugby union club Bradford Salem who recently lost 18-15 to Wetherby.<\/p>\n

After that game, Taufua spoke to\u00a0The Telegraph and Argus<\/a>\u00a0on the match but also on his future, whether it be in rugby league or rugby union.<\/p>\n

Taufua, 34, is one of just three players on Bradford Bulls\u2019 2025 roster who has not had a deal for 2026 confirmed, nor has had an exit announced either. Zane Musgrove and Sam Ackroyd are the other two<\/a> but it would appear that Taufua\u2019s future remains away from the Bulls.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the\u00a0Telegraph and Argus\u00a0on his recent rugby union switch, he explained: \u201cI have only been down here a few weeks as I know Salem players Watisone Raduabale and Misi Tualapapa and coach Andy Robinson.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for what it means in respect to his rugby league career, Taufua didn\u2019t offer much, stating: \u201cIt helps me with my fitness preparing for the next rugby league season, but I would prefer to keep it to myself as to what discussions I have had regarding that.\u201d<\/p>\n

It would suggest that he does intend on playing rugby league in 2026 but where that is remains unclear.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not the first rugby league player to make a switch to union with Jamie Shaul doing similar before then returning to league, playing for Goole last year in their maiden season.<\/p>\n

Bradford Salem coach Bob Hood said of Taufua: \u201cJorge is a fantastic team member, he is very strong and he has Misi outside him, who has craft.<\/p>\n

\u201cJorge is running hard and tackling hard, but I don\u2019t know whether we have found his best position yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
