Conor Benn has accused rival Chris Eubank Jr<\/a> of having a ‘victim mentality’ after sharing a concerning video of himself being treated in hospital<\/a>. Footage showed Eubank Jr, 36, laying motionless on a bed while hooked up to machines and surrounded by medical staff.<\/p>\n It promoted widespread sympathy from fans, some of whom urged the Briton to retire, having lost to Benn by unanimous decision<\/a> in their rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November. Benn, though, told fans to ask themselves why Eubank Jr posted the video and suggested that he was seeking a ‘sympathy vote’.<\/p>\n “I heard he had IBS throughout the last parts of training camp,” the 29-year-old said. “I heard it after the fight as well, or he’s got a stomach cyst or whatever it is.<\/p>\n “Ultimately, I’m not really too concerned, to be honest. I know it’s not a serious health condition. I think people need to look deeper into the reasons as to why it’s posted. It’s part of the sport we do. We’re modern-day gladiators. You’ll never hear me moan about anything. For one of my fights, I tore my tendon in my last spar of camp. You’re in the wrong game if you want the sympathy of the public. No one cares.”<\/p>\n When posting the video, Eubank Jr confirmed that he doesn’t plan to retire. “I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues over the last year and yeah it all finally caught up to me last month,” he posted on social media platform X.<\/p>\n “I will not box again until I’m back to 100% and I don’t know when that will be. But one thing’s for certain.
