{"id":320327,"date":"2025-12-17T05:16:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T05:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/320327\/"},"modified":"2025-12-17T05:16:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T05:16:07","slug":"new-rob-reiner-movie-delayed-following-tragic-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/320327\/","title":{"rendered":"New Rob Reiner Movie Delayed Following Tragic Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plans to release <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/rob-reiner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rob Reiner<\/a>\u2019s final film are being put on pause following The Princess Bride director\u2019s tragic death.<\/p>\n<p>Rob Reiner \u2014 known for directing a large handful of beloved movies like 1984\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/this-is-spinal-tap\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">This Is Spinal Tap<\/a>, 1986\u2019s Stand By Me, 1987\u2019s The Princess Bride, 1989\u2019s When Harry Met Sally\u2026, 1990\u2019s Misery, and 1992\u2019s A Few Good Men, among many others \u2014 tragically was found dead with his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, in their Brentwood home on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Reiner\u2019s son, Nick Reiner, was arrested on Sunday night and is currently being held in a Los Angeles County jail without bail on suspicion of murder, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/live\/2025\/12\/15\/us\/rob-michele-reiner-dead\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What Rob Reiner movie has been delayed?<\/p>\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/film\/news\/rob-reiner-spinal-tap-stonehenge-on-pause-1236610146\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Variety<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/bleecker-street\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bleecker Street<\/a> has decided to delay releasing Reiner\u2019s final film, a Spinal Tap concert movie titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/spinal-tap-at-stonehenge-the-final-finale\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Spinal Tap at Stonehenge: The Final Finale<\/a>, for the time being. The movie did not previously have an exact release date, though Bleecker Street did say it would be coming out in theaters and IMAX in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The article states, \u201cIn light of Reiner\u2019s death, plans to release the film are on hold for now until \u2018the best path forward is decided with those closest to Rob and his family,\u2019 sources said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A description of the movie reads, \u201cThe concert-film follows legendary fictional heavy metal band\u00a0Spinal Tap\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/Christopher-Guest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Christopher Guest<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/michael-mckean\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael McKean<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/Harry-Shearer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Shearer<\/a> reprising their iconic roles) as they put on a once-in-a-lifetime concert marking the first-ever rock show filmed at Stonehenge, the historic English heritage site forever linked to\u00a0Spinal Tap\u2019s iconic song of the same name. The film features show-stopping guest performances from Shania Twain, Eric Clapton, and Josh Groban.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This Is Spinal Tap was the first movie that Reiner ever directed.
