Sometimes, you just need to away from it all.<\/p>\n

Especially if your girlfriend\u2019s ex comes back from the dead to ruin your relationship. And you have a sneaking suspicion that she put her old boss in a coma. That would be enough to send most people scurrying off to Booking.com.<\/p>\n

So nobody bats an eyelid when Carla Connor<\/a> (Alison King<\/a>) leaves Coronation Street for a quick vay-cay to mend her broken heart over Lisa Swain<\/a> (Vicky Myers<\/a>), who is slipping into bunny-boiler Becky Swain\u2019s (Amy Cudden) clutches. <\/p>\n

But when Carla\u2019s sudden disappearance raises eyebrows with one Cobbles resident, it soon becomes clear there\u2019s something more sinister at play than a last-minute package deal\u2026<\/p>\n

Becky Swain is on top of her crazy game. <\/a>The ex-undercover cop has successfully faked her death to escape the wrath of Spanish gangsters and silenced her corrupt accomplice Detective Inspector Costello (Daon Broni) by having him hospitalised. <\/p>\n

Not only that, but Sneaky Swain successfully inveigled her way back under Lisa\u2019s roof, which frustrated Carla so much that she packed her bags and called time on #Swarla. It\u2019s hard to believe Lisa\u2019s a detective too, because so far she\u2019s been unable to detect her ex-wife\u2019s evil schemes. <\/p>\n

Carla\u2019s only ally is yet another copper, Kit Green<\/a> (Jacob Roberts<\/a>). That\u2019s right, this story\u2019s got more police officers with tortured expressions than BBC<\/a>\u2019s Blue lights. Teaming up, Carla and Kit suspect that Becky had <\/a>something to do with the attack on Costello. All they have to do is prove it.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Becky\u2019s always one step ahead, and recent episodes saw the detective duo\u2019s lack of success drive Carla back to the bottle. And since Lisa rejected her last gasp attempt at a #Swarla reunion, it appears that Carla\u2019s lost all hope of a kiss under the mistletoe.<\/p>\n

However, it would appear Lisa\u2019s still carrying a flame for her ex when she gets a text from Carla declaring that she wants her name taken off the mortgage<\/a>. Inspired to do some light social media stalking, Lisa sees a picture of Carla sipping a cocktail and \u2018living her best life. Lisa masks her hurt\u2026<\/p>\n

But Becky\u2019s keen to distract Lisa and make her forget all about Carla. So when Lisa complains of tension in her neck, Becky gives her a massage\u2026 which quickly leads to a bit of cheeky neck kissing. Will Lisa respond?<\/p>\n

It looks like Becky\u2019s finally got Lisa where she wants her as she suggests there\u2019s nothing to stop them from rekindling the love they once shared\u2026 but #Swarla still burns bright as Lisa sends a secret text to Carla, gushing about how much she loves her and how she\u2019d do anything to win her back. Make up your mind!<\/p>\n

Then on Christmas day, whilst her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) is happily unwrapping her presents with Becky, Lisa receives a worry text from Roy, informing her that Carla never checked into her hotel in Lanzarote. Uh-oh\u2026<\/p>\n
