{"id":320918,"date":"2025-12-17T12:49:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T12:49:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/320918\/"},"modified":"2025-12-17T12:49:15","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T12:49:15","slug":"morriscompany-gets-the-ok-for-radical-seifert-office-retrofit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/320918\/","title":{"rendered":"Morris+Company gets the OK for \u2018radical\u2019 Seifert office retrofit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The practice received unanimous consent last week (11 December) from Camden Council for the refurbishment of a Richard Seifert &amp; Partners office building at 120 Holborn, on the corner of Holborn Circus.<\/p>\n<p>Developed for United Ventures Investments, the proposal is to retain more than 90 per cent of the existing 1970s building \u2013 which was remodelled in 2015 \u2013 in an approach that Morris+Company describe as \u2018radical retention\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>A series of \u2018bold interventions\u2019 will see the creation of an expanded reception, added workspaces, rooftop terraces, and a new \u2018high-performance\u2019 fa\u00e7ade with distinctive red cladding designed to reinstate the aesthetic presence of the building.<\/p>\n<p>The fa\u00e7ade also provides larger windows while helping deliver larger floor plates, the practice says.
