The Celtic board must repair its relationship with the fanbase or consider selling the club to a new ownership.<\/p>\n

That is according to ex-Aberdeen, Aston Villa, and Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider, amid Celtic\u2019s current form under manager Wilfried Nancy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Celtic fans have protested against the board<\/a> since the summer transfer window and amid the team\u2019s failure to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Brendan Rodgers resigned as Celtic manager<\/a> in October, before the successful interim period of Martin O\u2019Neill, and he was replaced by Nancy from MLS side Columbus Crew, in what has been a tumultuous season for the club so far.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Celtic board must \u2018look at themselves in the mirror\u2019<\/p>\n

Aberdeen\u2019s former chief\u00a0Keith Wyness<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 believes the Celtic<\/a> board have handled important matters \u201cbadly\u201d in recent months. <\/p>\n

Speaking on the new edition of\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness thinks a new ownership could now be a solution to Celtic\u2019s problems.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cWe also saw the unfortunate scenes at the AGM the other week with Ross Desmond really pouring oil on troubled waters or trying to pour oil on troubled waters that ended up setting fire to those troubled waters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s\u00a0got to be peace,\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0got to break out between the board and the fans. Either that or for once I\u2019m actually calling\u00a0for the board to consider their position itself, because this is such a major time, a major important way\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0handled these things so badly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve\u00a0actually got\u00a0to look at themselves in the mirror, look at the situation with the fan base and the communication, the managerial situation overall, the way\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0running the club. I know they love\u00a0it\u00a0and they think\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0their\u00a0play thing, but I think\u00a0maybe now\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0actually got\u00a0to think about\u00a0actually selling\u00a0up and bringing in a new ownership.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0the first time\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0actually said\u00a0that, but I really believe that could be the case.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The decision to appoint Nancy as Celtic manager has been widely criticised<\/a>, with the Frenchman having lost all of his three games in charge so far.<\/p>\n

Nancy is already under huge pressure to start winning games, with attention now turning to their title race against Hearts<\/a> after their League Cup final defeat.<\/p>\n
