\n The first series, which premiered on January 8 of this year, was the biggest drama of the year for Channel 4 \u2013 averaging 4.2 million viewers per episode \u2013 and received critical acclaim in the\u00a0US when it was aired by PBS.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\n The cast returned to York this June to film the second series \u2013 filming\u00a0all over the city for ten days, including a story set in and around York Minster.\n<\/p>\n
\n Having filmed their last season during a rainy and cold April, the crew said that their return to the city during the summer had given them a new appreciation for York in the sun.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ella Maisy Purvis, playing the titular character, enthused about how the sunny weather complemented the new season’s feel, describing York as a “gorgeous city”.\n<\/p>\n
\n She said: \u201cI also think the show has a different feel, so the weather just suits it a lot better.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt\u2019s funny \u2013 there\u2019s a lot of shots where I just need to look and walk and stare and take things in and there\u2019s no acting required there. Patience has lived here all her life, but it\u2019s just so easy, like today in the Minster, and it\u2019s not hard to act that when it\u2019s such a gorgeous city.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
