Tributes have been paid on the one-year anniversary of the death of a ‘happy-go-lucky’ dad who impaled himself on a spiked fence while on a night out. Adam \u2018Pidge\u2019 Mountford tragically \u2018bled to death\u2019 after he became stuck on a fence near St George\u2019s Church in Newcastle town centre last year.<\/p>\n
The 34-year-old, from Fenton<\/a>, incredibly managed to free himself and run back into the town where he collapsed on a zebra crossing. Now one year on from the tragedy, Adam has been remembered by loved-ones as ‘larger than life character’ with a ‘huge personality’ who was ‘loved by many’.<\/p>\n He has also been described as a \u2018free spirited ray of sunshine\u2019 who had time for everyone and anyone and was ‘known by nearly everyone’ in Fenton. Adam had also travelled and ‘really learned who he was’ whilst exploring Thailand.<\/p>\n Adam\u2019s mum Julia Mountford <\/a>has paid for a headstone to honour Adam as she had put money aside to treat him before he passed away. She and Adam\u2019s girlfriend, Sophie, have paid tribute along with Adam\u2019s son, Koby, family, friends, and dog Blu who visits Adam\u2019s graveside often.<\/p>\n Julia told StokeonTrentLive: \u201cAdam lit up my heart every time I had the pleasure of seeing him. He is my only child and I loved my life loving him with every heartbeat – both in the good times and the bad.<\/p>\n \u201cMy beautiful Adam was a happy, funny, and free spirited child. The loss is absolutely heart-breaking and the silence is deafening. I miss him with every fibre of my being.”<\/p>\n Julia has also thanked the members of the public who came to Adam\u2019s aid on July 14 last year. He was pronounced dead at the Royal Stoke University Hospital after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest in the early hours.<\/p>\n She added: \u201cTwelve months on after the tragic loss of Adam, the family and I would like to thank the members of the public who desperately tried to save Adam.<\/p>\n “Kevin, a lady called Stephanie, and another person who made the 999 call at 1.58am that day. I\u2019ve had the pleasure of meeting Kevin and Stephanie, and I have paid my gratitude to both of them in what must have been a truly upsetting situation for them.<\/p>\n \u201cHowever, I am yet to meet the person who made the 999 call. If you are that person, or if you know that person, please would you consider meeting up? Myself and the family would like to thank you in person, and it would mean the world to us if you could get in touch.\u201d<\/p>\n A memorial day was held to honour Adam on Monday with his friends and family gathering. to pay their resects. Julia added: “The amount of love Adam had from people was overwhelming. Thank you so much to everybody who came to pay tribute to Adam.
