\n The star, who was born in and grew up in Oxford, played Professor Sprout in several of the fantasy movies adapted from JK Rowling’s book series.\n<\/p>\n

\n Ms Margolyes won a BAFTA for Martin Scorsese’s 1993 film, The Age of Innocence, but was notably not nominated for an Oscar for the same role.\n<\/p>\n

\n This was due to her co-star, Ms Ryder, instead being nominated for the accolade of Best Supporting Actress.\n<\/p>\n

\n Speaking on the matter previously on The Graham Norton Show, she said: “I was brilliant in it [the film], and the reason I wasn\u2019t nominated was because of Winona Ryder, I don\u2019t like her, I really don\u2019t.\n<\/p>\n

\n “What happened was she was nominated as a supporting actress instead of being nominated as a lead actress, and if she\u2019d jolly well kept herself to herself, she would\u2019ve been nominated as a lead actress, and it would have been me as a supporting.\n<\/p>\n

\n Graham Norton responded cheekily: “Oh that b***h!”\n<\/p>\n

\n Ms Margolyes added: “Absolutely, I was livid.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Ms Ryder is currently appearing on the hit Netflix show Stranger Things, playing the role of Joyce Byers.\n<\/p>\n

\n The 54-year-old has starred in all five seasons of the popular sci-fi show, with this current fifth series being the final instalment.\n<\/p>\n
