Leicester City remain in discussions over a potential deal for striker Michail Antonio with manager Marti Cifuentes speaking increasingly positively about the former West Ham forward.<\/p>\n
Antonio is still training with City<\/a> while talks take place over a potential contract for the 35-year-old.<\/p>\n He scored consistently at Premier League level over a number of years<\/a> but has not played a senior club match in 12 months since breaking his leg in a serious car crash.<\/p>\n Cifuentes has spoken positively about his fitness previously and it seems, from his perspective, that there is plenty Antonio can bring to the City squad.<\/p>\n Now it\u2019s a matter of getting the deal right for both the club and the player.<\/p>\n \u201cHe has been training with us and we are having a look and soon we will probably take a decision,\u201d Cifuentes said at his press conference on Thursday afternoon.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt would not make any sense that he was here if there was not interest from both sides. But this is always a negotiation and a conversation between two parties.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s aware he could do a good job for us here. We think he could help us if he\u2019s ready to help us and that\u2019s what we\u2019re discussing at the moment.<\/p>\n \u201cWe need to agree if we can do that, if we want to do that, if both parties feel happy to do it. I wouldn\u2019t call it a trial. It\u2019s more about getting to know each other and being aligned for the next (step) if it\u2019s going to happen.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a player that has 17 years of experience of professional football. I don\u2019t think anyone will be surprised by his quality or his level.
