Lidl-Trek, the latest iteration of the team founded as Leopard-Trek in 2011, announced on Thursday that the Luxembourger is coming aboard as &#8220;deputy general manager.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He has lived the pressure of Grand Tours, worn the yellow jersey, and led teams through the biggest moments in the sport,&#8221; said Lidl-Trek general manager Luca Guercilena of his new deputy. &#8220;That experience is invaluable for our riders and our staff. Beyond his sporting achievements, Andy brings a broad perspective from the business side of cycling and from developing teams and events.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In joining the team he is also rejoining his older brother and former teammate Fr\u00e4nk Schleck, who was recently announced as a new sports director for the Lidl-Trek women&#8217;s squad. Both riders raced for Leopard-Trek during their careers, joining the team for its inaugural season in 2011, the year after the Tour de France that Andy Schleck was later retroactively awarded following Alberto Contador&#8217;s ban.<\/p>\n<p>In their first season at Leopard Trek, the brothers climbed onto the Tour podium together.
