He showed an interest in bringing the Dutch international to Nottingham Forest before his sacking, and there is a feeling that Timber could be the \u2018missing piece\u2019 in this much-improved West Ham midfield.<\/p>\n A few weeks ago, the Feyenoord ultras displayed a banner reading \u2018re-sign or leave\u2019. The message could hardly have been clearer. With his contract expiring next summer, the time has come for Timber to make a decision.<\/p>\n January, after all, will be Feyenoord\u2019s last chance to sell for somewhere in the region of their reported \u00a323 million asking price. Unfortunately, Timber does not seem to be a man with his mind made up.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s what my agents are for,\u201d Timber tells RTV Rijnmond<\/a>. \u201cI know the talks are still ongoing [with Feyenoord] I have complete confidence in my agent and the club. I\u2019ve been working with them for eight years.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m enjoying myself at Feyenoord. I still love playing at De Kuip.<\/p>\n \u201c[The situation] is not ideal. I\u2019m not involved in the discussions myself. We\u2019re not diametrically opposed. It\u2019s positive, and we\u2019re trying to find a good solution together. I\u2019m really enjoying myself at Feyenoord. You might not believe that, but otherwise I wouldn\u2019t still be in talks.\u201d<\/p>\n Nuno Espirito Santo is a big fan of Timber and wanted him at Nottingham Forest<\/p>\n West Ham have been joined by Borussia Dortmund<\/a> in targeting an athletic, technically-gifted, box-to-box midfielder who won the Eredivisie title under Arne Slot in 2023.
