Somerset Sign Sams<\/p>\n
Somerset County Cricket Club is pleased to be able to reveal the signing of Daniel Sams for the 2026 Vitality Blast.<\/p>\n
The Australia international will be available for the duration of the competition.<\/p>\n
A regular in global white ball franchise cricket, the 33-year-old has featured in a total of 206 T20 matches in his career, claiming 250 wickets at an average of 24.63 with a best of five for 30. In those matches he has also amassed over 2170 runs with a best of 98 not out at a strike rate of 152.66.<\/p>\n
As well as impressing in the IPL, the Big Bash, the CPL, the PSL and The Hundred, the left-arm seamer has experience of the English domestic game having represented Essex and Nottinghamshire.<\/p>\n
2023 saw him finish the season as the Vitality Blast MVP after scoring 419 runs and taking 25 wickets as his Essex side finished as runners up to Somerset.<\/p>\n
