The upcoming D&D supplements Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faer\u00fbn<\/a> and Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faer\u00fbn<\/a> will also be getting new tie-in content that\u2019s available exclusively for download on D&D Beyond. This DLC approach is relatively rare for Wizards of the Coast, who has traditionally steered away from releasing standalone digital products. And while there\u2019s much we still don\u2019t know about the titles, it may be the start of a new type of product and a new approach to promoting the D&D brand.<\/p>\n

So just can what users expect when this Forgotten Realms DLC hits D&D Beyond? Below, we break out everything we know so far.<\/p>\n

What are the new Forgotten Realms DLC products on D&D Beyond?<\/p>\n

So far we don\u2019t know much about the DLC tie-in products. In a recent Game Informer article<\/a> they\u2019re described only as \u201cdigital DLCs\u201d that will be released along with the two new Forgotten Realms sourcebooks. The only example that was provided was a title called\u00a0Asterion\u2019s Book of Hungers, which focuses on urban vampire adventures featuring the popular character<\/a> from the\u00a0Baldur\u2019s Gate 3 video game. The exact number of DLC products, their page counts and structure, however, is still unknown.<\/p>\n

We do, however, know that the DLC books will be available exclusively on D&D Beyond, which remains Wizards of the Coast\u2019s primary method for selling digital products.<\/p>\n

When are the Forgotten Realms DLC books hitting D&D Beyond?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not yet known when the DLC books will be released. We do, however, know that the two Forgotten Realms books will be published on on November 11th, 2025, so it\u2019s likely they\u2019ll be released around the same time to capitalize on high levels of interest around the two new books. <\/p>\n

How much are the Forgotten Realms DLC tie-in books?<\/p>\n

Wizards of the Coast has not yet confirmed a price for the new Forgotten Realms DLC products. It\u2019s also not yet clear if they\u2019re a pre-order exclusive that\u2019s given away for free or something that can be purchased individually within the D&D Beyond Marketplace.<\/a> <\/p>\n

What other DLC has been released on D&D Beyond?<\/p>\n

Over the years, Wizards of the Coast has released a number of digital-only supplements that tie into various official books. The last of such products, however, was the Dragonlance Monstrous Compendium<\/a>, which was released in December 2022 as a tie-in to the Shadow of the Dragon Queen campaign book. <\/p>\n

Since then, however, tie-in DLC to major products has been essentially non-existent, with Wizards of the Coast instead simply selling digital versions of print materials.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll likely learn more about what this new DLC looks like once the two new\u00a0Forgotten Realms\u00a0books are made available for pre-order.
