Pictures has released the first footage, a Spanish teaser trailer, from filmmaker Pedro Almodovar\u2019s latest effort \u201cBitter Christmas\u201d (aka. \u201cAmarga Navidad\u201d)<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish-language drama follows workaholic advertising director Elsa who, after her mother dies, immerses herself in work to cope.<\/p>\n<p>When a panic attack forces her to take a break, she decides to travel to Lanzarote with her friend Patricia while her partner Bonifacio stays in Madrid<\/p>\n<p>On the island, their experiences mirror the story of a screenwriter and a film director, blurring the lines between life and art.  B\u00e1rbara Lennie, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Victoria Luengo and Patrick Criado co-star.<\/p>\n<p>The project marks the celebrated filmmaker\u2019s 24th overall feature which aims to join many of his classics like \u201cTalk to Her,\u201d \u201cAll About My Mother,\u201d \u201cTie Me Up, Tie Me Down,\u201d \u201cWomen on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,\u201d \u201cPain and Glory,\u201d \u201cVolver,\u201d \u201cThe Skin I Live In,\u201d \u201cBad Education\u201d and \u201cParallel Mothers\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The trailer shows the usual hallmarks of his style \u2013 bright primary colours, an emphasis on clothing and interior design, interesting shot composition and more.<\/p>\n<p>Shot in the Spring, the title opens in Spain on March 20th 2026 with Sony Pictures Classics handling the U.S. release sometime next year.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldofreel.com\/blog\/2025\/12\/17\/almodovar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World of Reel<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Warner Bros.
