MAX KRETZSCHMAR has brought his time as a player with the Stones to an end and has been released by the club in order to take up an exciting opportunity elsewhere.<\/p>\n
The Wealdstone FC Board understands the 32-year-old’s wish to pursue this chance, and is appreciative of the manner in which conversations have taken place.<\/p>\n
“In my two spells at this special club we have enjoyed many highs and faced some tough situations; throughout these times in football, you need people around you that will stand up in adversity, be a beacon of professionalism, integrity and positivity,” said Sam Cox of the attacking midfielder’s exit.<\/p>\n
“Max has displayed these and many more traits throughout his time as a Wealdstone player and deserves all the respect and gratitude afforded to him now and in the future.<\/p>\n
“He has a wonderful opportunity in the next stage of his career in football and leaves us with our thanks and best wishes for what comes next for him.<\/p>\n
“Thank you Max from us all, a wonderful servant to Wealdstone FC.”<\/p>\n
Kretzschmar scored 25 goals in over 130 appearances for the Stones, since signing in summer 2022 as a free agent after four years with fellow Enterprise National League side Woking.<\/p>\n
Having spent some formative years at Southampton FC, the Stones’ favourite joined Wycombe Wanderers’ youth set-up and made his professional debut for the Chairboys in 2013, before joining the Cards in summer 2016 for the first of two spells in Surrey.<\/p>\n
Added club Chairman Rory Fitzgerald: \u00a0“Max has been an excellent ambassador for our wonderful club, including representing us in a highly professional and mature manner away from matchdays, as well as wearing the blue shirt with pride.<\/p>\n
“His background in full-time professional football enabled him to have a big influence on the dressing-room and younger players around him, helping \u00a0the club continually push forward in recent seasons.”<\/p>\n
