Waterloo Road<\/a> actor Lorraine Chesire has died aged 65, her partner has confirmed.<\/p>\n The late soap star\u2019s partner, John Dixon, wrote on Facebook<\/a>: \u2018The love of my life passed away early this morning 46 years, and now my heart is broken. To the green fields beyond,\u2019 in an emotional message.<\/p>\n After making her start in 1999 in the TV show, The Cops, she went on to star in Holby City, Early Doors and Life On Mars.<\/p>\n In 2007, she joined Waterloo Road as Fleur Budgen and appeared in several episodes over the course of five years.<\/p>\n In recent years, she has starred in Channel 4<\/a> series Ackley Bridge<\/a> as Lorraine Bird and in hit comedy<\/a> Trollied as Sue. Her last project before her death was a short movie called Incompatible in which she played the character Pauline.<\/p>\n Other credits included Casualty, Early Doors and The Royal.<\/p>\n \t\t \t\t Her Early Doors co-star Christine Bottomley\u00a0shared an image of a lit candle, a glass of brandy and a Coca-Cola on her Instagram<\/a> story alongside the caption: \u2018No words today\u2019.<\/p>\n Another industry friend, Anthony Crank, shared: \u2018Just heard the horrific news that beautiful Lorraine has passed over. One of the kindest, funniest, beautiful and caring souls I ever had the privilege to know.<\/p>\n \u2018My heart goes out to John and all that knew her. This week is awful, just hell on earth. Please give your loved ones the biggest squeeze tonight. REST IN POWER YOU ABSOLUTE QUEEN.\u2019<\/p>\n Trollied co-star Chanel Cresswell posted on Instagram: \u2018I can\u2019t quite believe I\u2019m writing this. I\u2019ll always cherish the advice you gave and the most wonderful friendship. The naughty laughs we had. The memories we shared. <\/p>\n \u2018Lozza thank you for being a friend to me. I\u2019ll miss you so so much. I\u2019m shocked, and so so sad. You was one of a kind. Rest in peace\u00a0\u2018<\/p>\n Fans also shared their own tributes to the British screenstar. <\/p>\n \u2018I loved Lorraine in EARLY DOORS. Absolutely brilliant [in] Trollied and Waterloo Road. What an actress. A big loss,\u2019 mikepriestley13 said.<\/p>\n \u2018A warm and versatile actress, for me she\u2019s most remembered for Waterloo Road and Ackley Bridge,\u2019 Antony<\/a> Corrigan added.<\/p>\n \u2018You really were such a kind, warm soul\u2026 thinking of all your family at this heartbreaking time. Goodnight,\u2019 Charlotte Cresswell posted.<\/p>\n Born in Wythenshawe in Manchester, Cheshire started her acting career aged 38 and graduated from drama school a few years later.<\/p>\n \t\t \u2018Yeah, it was difficult with all the kids there, but after about a year I settled down and got on with it and got through it,\u2019 she once said<\/a> about starting later in life, crediting her husband for \u2018encouraging\u2019 her.<\/p>\n She described her first TV job as a \u2018baptism of fire\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018The director had to tell me: \u201cLorraine, love, you don\u2019t have to shout. We have a microphone!\u201d I was so embarrassed, but he said don\u2019t worry; you learn as you go along.
