It should have been a killer end to the year for Baldur\u2019s Gate 3<\/a> maker Larian Studios.<\/p>\n

It got top billing at The Game Awards<\/a> just a little over a week ago, which saw it announce a new Divinity<\/a> game as part of a statue stunt which captured the industry\u2019s attention<\/a> for days.<\/p>\n

But comments made by boss Swen Vincke<\/a> about generative AI in a Bloomberg<\/a> interview afterwards quickly turned sour. Since, several ex-employees have come out to comment on the studio, making all kinds of accusations about its working conditions.<\/p>\n

Now, trying to wrestle back control of the narrative, the studio has announced an AMA with fans for the New Year which will see it clear up comments which got \u201clost in translation\u201d.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a week since we announced Divinity, our next RPG, and a lot has become lost in translation.<\/p>\n

Vincke wrote on X<\/a> (or Twitter<\/a>):<\/p>\n

On the subject of generative AI, the executive said it \u201cwould be irresponsible for us not evaluate new technologies\u201d but added if \u201cthey\u2019re not efficient or fail to align with who we are, we will make changes\u201d.<\/p>\n

Vincke now intends to invite fans to ask their own questions about its practices in 2026, as part of an AMA which will involve several different departments and teams.<\/p>\n

Hopefully this will help to clear up the conversation, because Larian \u2013 one of the more beloved studios in the industry up until the past few days \u2013 has found itself in the eye of a storm of late.<\/p>\n
