Anthony Joshua<\/a>, like most of us, was stunned when Terence Crawford<\/a> dropped the news. <\/p>\n

The former three-division undisputed champion and five-division belt holder recently announced that he was hanging up the gloves. <\/p>\n

Although he\u2019s 38, Crawford looked like a man who wasn\u2019t close to being done in his convincing victory over Canelo Alvarez<\/a> to become an undisputed super middleweight champion on September 13. However, Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) evidently has had enough. <\/p>\n

Joshua wholeheartedly respects Crawford’s decision but doesn’t believe the future first ballot Hall of Famer should walk away just yet.<\/p>\n

The former two-time heavyweight champ spoke to Rick Reeno on the “Mr. Verzace Podcast” before his fight with Jake Paul <\/a>on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like Terence Crawford has got so, so much more to give,\u201d Joshua said. \u201cBut it\u2019s not just physical, it\u2019s what\u2019s going on in his mind. He\u2019s been in the game for a long time, so maybe he\u2019s like, forget it, I\u2019m done mentally, even though physically he\u2019s good.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he accomplished more than most, Crawford still had plenty of options. For starters, Alvarez announced a desire to run things back in the second half of next year. And Jaron Ennis and Vergil Ortiz head a long list of notable potential foes who have repeatedly called him out. <\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Crawford\u2019s pugilistic cup is full as he now awaits that eventual call from the Hall. If he doesn\u2019t get the itch to return, Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) will be somewhat disappointed. With that said, he understands that Crawford has given his life to the sport and has earned the right to go out on his own terms.<\/p>\n
