The new Super League season is less than two months away now and clubs are hard at work.<\/p>\n

Pre-season training has been underway for some time and it won\u2019t be long before friendlies are being played. In fact, Wakefield Trinity have just a few days to wait until their first outing of the winter, with Daryl Powell taking his side to Headingley to face Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a traditional contest, but Powell will be hoping to see his side use the occasion well and impress against their West Yorkshire rivals.<\/p>\n

A host of players will be striving to catch the eye, too, particularly those who are entering the final season of their respective contracts.<\/p>\n

As it stands, six players have less than year left to run on their deals at Belle Vue and they\u2019ll be doing all they can to earn a new contract over the coming months.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, here\u2019s a look at Wakefield Trinity\u2019s contract situation.<\/p>\n

Wakefield Trinity contract state of play<\/p>\n

2026: Cam Scott, Thomas Doyle, Mason Lino, Myles Lawford, Lachlan Walmsley, Will Tate<\/p>\n

Lino is the most high profile player on this list and Wakefield will be watching him closely at the start of the season before deciding how to progress towards 2027. Lino impressed last season but he\u2019ll be 32 by the time the campaign starts, meaning any new deal is unlikely to be considered long-term.<\/p>\n

Scott has an option for another year on his deal, so he\u2019ll be doing all he can to force that extension. Tate arrives at Belle Vue with a point to prove after struggling with injury at Castleford Tigers and he\u2019ll be competing for a wing spot alongside Walmsley, who will be another Wakefield<\/a> will be watching closely given his overseas status.<\/p>\n

Doyle didn\u2019t play much last season so he\u2019ll be looking for more game time this time around, while Lawford has joined Halifax Panthers on loan.<\/p>\n

2027: Corey Hall, Isaiah Vagana, Jake Trueman, Jay Pitts, Jazz Tevaga, Jordan Williams, Josh Rourke, Kian McGann, Matty Storton, Max Jowitt, Neil Tchamambe, Seth Nikotemo, Tray Lolesio.<\/p>\n

Decisions on the above list will be made on form, but it\u2019s fair to say that the club won\u2019t be keen to see so many of those players enter the final year of their deals. The likes of Trueman, Jowitt and Rourke were key players last season and new deals might well be in the pipeline as 2026 progresses.<\/p>\n

Trinity will be relaxed about new signings Tevaga, Lolesio and McGann, while the ball in very much in the court of Hall, Vagana, Storton and Nikotemo to earn new deals over the next year or so.<\/p>\n

2028: Caius Faatili, Jack Sinfield, Ky Rodwell, Mike McMeeken, Oliver Pratt, Tom Johnstone, Tyson Smoothy.<\/p>\n

Trinity will be pleased to have all of the above names wrapped up long term. They\u2019ll all be key players for the Trin in 2026, with eyes on the likes of Pratt and Sinfield to see how they fulfil their potential.<\/p>\n

2029: Ellis Lingard<\/p>\n

Lingard scored twice on his only Wakefield Trinity appearance last season to underline why the youngster is so highly rated at Belle Vue.<\/p>\n

2030: Jayden Myers, Harvey Smith, Caleb Hamlin-Uele<\/p>\n

Wakefield will be delighted to have all of these players wrapped up for the next five seasons at least, with Smith and Hamlin-Uele in particular set to play big roles next year.<\/p>\n
