A shark warning has been issued for a popular beach near Esperance.<\/p>\n
The alert was issued for Kelp Beds Beach on the back of multiple shark sightings at the beach in the past four days.<\/p>\n
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development warned that there was a likelihood of surfers and swimmers encountering one of the predators.<\/p>\n
It said while sharks were present along the WA coast throughout the year, people should exercise additional caution at Kelp Beds Beach.<\/p>\n
DPIRD advises to adhere to beach closures, use your sea sense and stay informed by checking to shark activity on the SharkSmart website.<\/p>\n
Officers will continue to monitor the situation and update the public accordingly.<\/p>\n
WHAT TO DO<\/p>\n
If you see a shark, report it to Water Police on 9442 8600. All shark sighting information reported to Water Police is provided to land managers and relevant authorities and to the public on the SharkSmart website, SharkSmart WA app and @SLSWA on X.<\/p>\n
