The news for the undercard was revealed by boxing insider Julius Julianis<\/a> tonight.<\/p>\n What will disappoint fans is Edgar Berlanga being given a world title shot against WBA interim 168-lb champion Armando Resendiz. Berlandez is coming off a knockout loss to Hamzah Sheeraz on July 12th in Queens, New York. It appears Resendiz-Berlanga is the co-feature on the February 21st card.<\/p>\n Edgar has lost two out of his last three fights. It\u2019s an oddball fight that doesn\u2019t move the needle with fans outside of the Brooklyn, New York area. If Berlanga were coming off some wins, it would be fine having him fight for a world title against Resendiz.<\/p>\n But his record is 1-2 in his last three fights. If we\u2019re treating boxing like other sports, where you have to earn the championship games or matches by winning, Berlanga doesn\u2019t belong fighting Resendiz. It sends a bad message to have him in this kind of fight.<\/p>\n Hiraoka fighting Gary Antuanne Russell doesn\u2019t do much to create interest in this career. The 29-year-old is ranked #1 with the WBA, but his resume is barren of name opponents.
