Coronation Street fans have rushed to support James Cartwright after the actor opened up about heartbreak he has gone through recently<\/p>\n

Coronation Street<\/a>\u2019s Theo Silverton actor James Cartwright has opened up about his real-life heartbreak, admitting this Christmas<\/a> will \u201cfeel empty\u201d.<\/p>\n

James joined the ITV soap this year<\/a> playing Theo Silverton, the new love interest of Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce<\/a>) – and it didn\u2019t take long for sparks to fly between the pair.<\/p>\n

However, soon enough Theo’s true self and colours came to light as Theo has been manipulating and abusing Todd<\/a> for months, in a bid to control every aspect of his life. Terrified of what his partner is capable of, Todd set up hidden cameras in their home.<\/p>\n

And this month, a powerful special episode <\/a>which was presented through various recording devices including Todd’s secret camera, CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, video doorbell captures and police body-worn cameras.<\/p>\n

Away from the ITV<\/a> soap though, Theo actor James recently spoke about the loss of three beloved family members, and shared how he is struggling with grief this Christmas period.<\/p>\n

\u201cVery sadly, this year, we\u2019ve lost both our dogs<\/a>,\u201d he said, as Metro reports. James went on: \u201cAnd last year we lost my grandad, who was my best friend, just before Christmas. The house will feel very empty, so to combat that, we\u2019re going out for Christmas dinner<\/a> for the first time ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Revealing his Christmas Day plans, James explained: \u201cWe\u2019ll wake up in the morning with all the family, we\u2019ll open our presents, we\u2019ll get our best suits on, and then we\u2019ll go out for something to eat.<\/p>\n

\u201cMum will have an egg nogg, Dad will have a sparkling water and me, my brother and sister will probably get giddy on buzzballs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The TV star then went on to recall memories of his grandad at Christmas. He said: \u201cMy favourite memories are from when my dear grandad was still with us. To me those were the best Christmases because it was a full dinner table and lots of laughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reacting to the story of James\u2019 triple family loss, fans on Facebook<\/a> rushed to support him. One person said: \u201cI\u2019m so sorry for your loss,\u201d while another penned: \u201cThat\u2019s so sad.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, it turns out showbiz runs in James\u2019 family as his father is the successful writer and dramatist Jim Cartwright. Jim has penned an extensive amount of work over the years, most notably the 1992 play The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, which was turned into a movie in 1998 starring Jane Horrocks and Michael Caine.<\/p>\n

Over the years, James has worked with his famous dad plenty of times. In 2009, he was cast in the West End revival of his dad\u2019s play The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, taking on the role of Billy.<\/p>\n
