The sophomore film from visionary director Guillermo del Toro, Mimic will be released on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray<\/a> on January 13 via Kino Lorber.<\/p>\n

Both the 106-minute theatrical version and the 112-minute director\u2019s cut have been newly restored in 4K, approved by del Toro, with Dolby Vision.<\/p>\n

In the 1997 sci-fi horror film, the battle between man and nature comes to life when a team of scientists discover a glitch in their miracle cure.<\/p>\n

With the power to mimic and destroy its every predator and the threat of an entire city\u2019s destruction, their creation has taken on a horrifying life of its own. The ever-growing weight of extinction on their shoulders forces the team to take matters into their own hands.<\/p>\n

Del Toro co-wrote the script with frequent collaborator Matthew Robbins (Crimson Peak, Pinocchio), based on Donald A. Wollheim\u2018s short story of the same name.<\/p>\n

Mira Sorvino, Jeremy Northam, Josh Brolin, F. Murray Abraham, and Charles S. Dutton star.<\/p>\n

Miramax announced a\u00a0\u201cMimic\u201d television series<\/a> back in 2020, but there hasn\u2019t any word on the project since. Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Event Horizon) was on board to direct the pilot written by showrunner Jim Danger Gray (\u201cHannibal,\u201d \u201cOrange Is the New Black\u201d).<\/p>\n
