{"id":330371,"date":"2025-12-22T20:39:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T20:39:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/330371\/"},"modified":"2025-12-22T20:39:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T20:39:10","slug":"hull-fc-man-discusses-new-role-for-2026-as-switch-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/330371\/","title":{"rendered":"Hull FC man discusses new role for 2026 as switch confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"2400\" height=\"1600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/OHO5697.jpg\" class=\"attachment- size- wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Hull FC star Cade Cust is raring to go for 2026 with the Australian speaking about his new position and where the club are at in pre-season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriousaboutrl.com\/hull-fc-seal-ninth-2025-signing-as-overseas-utility-player-joins-98039\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cust arrived ahead of the 2025 season<\/a> as one of a host of new signings, including Aidan Sezer, with whom he formed a strong halves partnership for much of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The Black and Whites had signed Jordan Abdull to play six with Cust recruited as a hooker or utility, a role that he still did play at times, but Abdull\u2019s release saw the former Wigan man spend much of his time in the halves.<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriousaboutrl.com\/rugby-league-news-leeds-rhinos-coach-brad-arthur-talks-hull-fc-as-impact-of-sons-move-explained-111221\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jake Arthur signed from the NRL ahead of the 2026 season<\/a>, it was expected that Cust would revert to his hooker role alongside Amir Bourouh, and a post on social from Hull FC has confirmed that to be the plan.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriousaboutrl.com\/rugby-league-news-hull-fc-confirm-2026-squad-numbers-with-spine-locked-in-and-new-signings-handed-starting-shirts-110741\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Their squad numbers<\/a> had previously suggested that with Cust handed the number 14 shirt, however, this recent post has locked it in.<\/p>\n<p>Hull FC star locks in expected role for 2026<\/p>\n<p>Taking to Instagram, the Black and Whites shared some quotes from Cust, captioned: \u201cA live wire out of nine\u201d, confirming Cust\u2019s role once again and it\u2019s one he is very familiar with.<\/p>\n<p>Despite signing with Wigan to play six, Cust has transitioned into a nine during his time in England and looking ahead to 2026, he explained:\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ve played plenty of nine throughout my career so it\u2019s not a position that I\u2019m unfamiliar with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to interchanging in that role with Amir (Bourouh) and playing off the back of our big forward pack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That forward pack includes new signings Harvie Hill, Sam Lisone, Joe Batchelor and James Bell, whilst Ligi Sao is also back from injury.<\/p>\n<p>Such recruits have seen some talk of Hull FC as a dark horse for 2026 and Cust offered an update on pre-season so far, with the Black and Whites set to ramp things up in the New Year.<\/p>\n<p>He expalined: \u201cIt should be a great year, we\u2019ve started well in pre-season.
