The BBC<\/a> has suffered a major setback after one of its biggest names, Stacey Solomon<\/a>, decided to put her reality programme, Stacey & Joe, on indefinite hold.<\/p>\n

The documentary series, featuring Stacey and husband Joe Swash<\/a>, proved a massive hit this year, with its debut episode drawing in more than four million viewers.<\/p>\n

Such was the show’s success that a second series was swiftly greenlit, allowing audiences another glimpse inside the couple’s beloved Pickle Cottage.<\/p>\n

However, Stacey’s representative has now exclusively confirmed to Express.co.uk the reason behind this unexpected decision.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Stacey Solomon explained that Stacey was taking a break from her reality TV work, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They said: “Stacey and her family love filming the show and hope it will return at some point and are very grateful for the support they’ve been shown by the production company and broadcaster.”<\/p>\n

Her other BBC show Sort Your Life Out will carry on as planned.<\/p>\n

This latest development represents a considerable loss for the BBC, who regard Stacey as one of their most valuable television personalities. The broadcaster is once again facing criticism, this time over their decision to air a contentious episode of Would I Lie to You featuring David Walliams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This comes on the heels of news that Walliams has been dropped by his publishers amidst allegations of inappropriate behaviour, all of which he vehemently denies.<\/p>\n

The episode in question sparked outrage after reports emerged that Walliams had performed two Nazi salutes during filming, leaving the audience taken aback.<\/p>\n

In response to the incident, the BBC issued an apology and removed the offending scene from the episode.<\/p>\n

Adding to the broadcaster’s woes, Celebrity MasterChef<\/a>, one of their flagship shows, has seen a significant drop in viewership, losing nearly a third of its audience within a year and struggling to attract more than 1.3 million viewers for its latest series.<\/p>\n

To add insult to injury, the first episode of the current run, aired on 17 November, didn’t even make it into Barb’s Top 50 programmes of the week.<\/p>\n
