An iconic British actor on The Night Manager<\/a> reportedly became \u2018tricky\u2019 to deal with on set after wanting Tom Hiddleston<\/a>\u2019s role.<\/p>\n Nearly 10 years after the BBC<\/a> thriller first hit our screens, all episodes of season two of The Night Manager will premiere on New Year\u2019s Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n Reprising his role as Jonathan Pine, Loki<\/a>\u00a0actor Hiddleston, 43, will be joined by a host of stars, including Daisy Jones and the Six actress Camila Morrone.<\/p>\n Camila will replace The Crown<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Elizabeth Debicki<\/a>, who played the main love interest in season one.<\/p>\n Hugh Laurie<\/a>\u00a0will be serving as an executive producer on the latest series, after being taken down as arms dealer Richard Roper in the first season, and might be surprised to hear that his presence on set was not always positive.<\/p>\n According to screenwriter David Farr, who adapted John le Carr\u00e9\u2019s 1993 novel for the screen, Laurie had very fixed ideas about the series after he originally tried to get the book made.<\/p>\n \u2018It was actually very tricky with Hugh because he\u2019d tried to option the book when he was much younger because he\u2019d loved it and he really wanted to play Pine,\u2019 Farr told the Daily Mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web \t\t \u2018Then I was suddenly doing the television show and had written the first episode, and everyone liked it and Tom Hiddleston had signed up [as Pine].\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2018But then Hugh became really tricky, because he had such fixed ideas and none of his notes were about his character [Roper] \u2013 they were all about Tom\u2019s character \u2013 and I was like, \u201cGive me a break.\u201d\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n Discussing their relationship now, however, Farr has insisted that they are on good terms.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tHere’s a look at some fantastic TV heading your way\t\t\t<\/p>\n He told a crowd at London<\/a>\u2019s Blackheath Concert Halls: \u2018We\u2019re fine now. I think if I\u2019d been more mature, I could have dealt with it better. Hugh is a lovely man, very passionate.
