4<\/p>\n Paul will be sidelined for some time after sustaining a nasty injury against JoshuaCredit: AFP<\/p>\n Despite being reduced to only consuming liquids for a week following the fight having immediately undergone surgery to repair his jaw, Paul<\/a> is already looking to what’s next.<\/p>\n Speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, hosted by his brother Logan, Paul revealed he has former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou<\/a> in the crosshairs.<\/p>\n \u201cI told everyone that I would do better than Francis,” Paul, who struggled to talk and spoke with somewhat of a lisp due to his broken jaw, said. <\/p>\n “Francis has kind of got no chin. I think maybe now he\u2019ll take [the fight].\u201d<\/p>\n Ngannou has not fought since October 19, when he knocked out Renan Ferreira inside the first round<\/a> to become the PFL Super Fights heavyweight champion.<\/p>\n It was Ngannou’s first mixed martial arts (MMA) bout since January 2022 having walked away from the UFC<\/a> and taken a detour into the squared circle with boxing bouts against Joshua<\/a> and Tyson Fury<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ngannou, who weighed in at 256.8 lbs for his bout against Ferreira, knocked down Fury in his boxing debut but was ultimately beaten in a split decision verdict.<\/a><\/p>\n Despite the loss, Ngannou’s impressive display against the then-unbeaten Fury catapulted him into the WBC’s heavyweight rankings.<\/a><\/p>\n However, Ngannou’s time in the top bracket of heavyweights in boxing was emphatically ended in his second bout against Joshua.<\/p>\n 4<\/p>\n Paul called out Ngannou on the latest episode of the Impaulsive podcastCredit: Impaulsive Podcast 4<\/p>\n Ngannou has two boxing bouts to his name but last stepped between the ropes in March 2024Credit: Mark Robinson\/Matchroom<\/p>\n Against the Brit, Ngannou was knocked out cold in the second round<\/a> via a brutal right hand.<\/p>\n It was the third time Ngannou had been sent tumbling to the canvas against Joshua, although he impressively rose to his feet on the first two occasions.<\/p>\n Paul has previously approached Ngannou for a bout<\/a> in the past, with the Cameroonian even tipped to step up as the replacement for Gervonta Davis<\/a> after a series of allegations were levelled at the latter regarding an incident at a strip club on October 27.<\/p>\n However, it was Joshua who ultimately filled the void left by Davis as Ngannou told TMZ Sports a bout between him and the YouTuber-turned-boxer made ‘no sense.’<\/p>\n “Basically, how can they go from Gervonta Davis to Francis Ngannou?” Ngannou said.<\/p>\n “Gervonta Davis is a fantastic boxer and is a one-shot knockout artist, but come on.<\/p>\n 4<\/p>\n The Cameroonian beast has won 13 of his 21 MMA bouts by knockoutCredit: Getty<\/p>\n “We’re way different. It makes no sense.
