Celtic could be set for a huge blow with Brendan Rodgers wanting to reunite with Callum McGregor in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

That is according to ex-Aberdeen, Aston Villa, and Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who expects McGregor to make the move to join Rodgers at Al Qadsiah.<\/p>\n

Rodgers resigned as Celtic manager<\/a> in October, and the 52-year-old has since been appointed boss of Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah.<\/p>\n

Celtic captain McGregor has been linked with a move to Al Qadsiah<\/a> to join back up with Rodgers, whom he worked with over two spells in Glasgow.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Callum McGregor move signals more Celtic problems<\/p>\n

Aberdeen\u2019s former chief Keith Wyness<\/a> \u2013 who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 believes it would be a \u201cperfect\u201d move for McGregor.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness thinks Celtic<\/a> would find it tough replacing the 32-year-old.<\/p>\n

He told Football Insider\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cThe interesting thing is Brendan is from Celtic and Callum McGregor is from Celtic, and they\u2019re being signed by James Bisgrove, who was the Rangers CEO. So there\u2019s a bit of a Glaswegian combination there. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut\u00a0yeah, look, I can understand\u00a0Callum\u00a0McGregor wanting to go to Saudi at this stage in his career.\u00a0And I think working with Brendan would be attractive\u00a0for\u00a0him. I think\u00a0he\u2019d\u00a0be perfect for that sort of move. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd yes, he\u2019s been a mainstay of Celtic at the moment, and this is just another symptom of some of the issues they\u2019ve got, but I will not be surprised for that move to happen, and I would expect it to. And as I say, you don\u2019t find many replacements for Callum McGregor. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s going to be focused on the World Cup as well this year and see where Scotland end up there, but still I think this would be a good move for him, and I would expect it to happen.\u201d <\/p>\n

McGregor\u2019s departure would be another hit to Wilfried Nancy at Celtic having suffered a difficult start to life at the club.<\/p>\n
